A Bygone Spirit Gone RIP

Peter Yarrow, 86, of Peter, Paul and Mary has died. I don't usually get that sentimental, but when I listened to his most famous song of Puff the Magic Dragon, I could not help but tear up and remember such happy times with my son as a child. It is a bygone era dying along with him. An era of such peace and creativity, Boomers are you with me? Who remembers anyone?

I am sorry to hear this. I love their songs. In fact, when they came to Hong Kong many years ago, I went to see their concert. RIP, Peter.

The last member of Peter, Paul and Mary has gone on a "jet plane" to a better place. Wasn't a big folkie fan but who didn't like Puff the Magic Dragon. Leaving on a Jet Plane was a favorite of mine OT. Great video

I knew this song before I knew who Peter, Paul and Mary were. It even reminds me of my own childhood - when perhaps we were more at ease with everything. RIP Peter Yarrow.

Always a bit sad when an old icon passes. When I was in the Falklands the local radio was forever playing Puff the Magic Dragon. I was almost word perfect by the time I left!
