Big sale at the supermarket

Was looking through the supermarket circulars.
There seems to be a big sale this week.
Bumble Bee solid tuna is 12/$12.
Hellman’s mayo is $2.99 for a 30 oz. jar.
Haagen-Dazs ice cream (14 oz.) is 2/$7.
Cracker Barrel chunk cheese is $1.99.
Tobasco is 2/$5.
While some of this stuff we don’t need yet I think it’s a good idea to stock up anyway.
Better to pay much less now than more later.
Do you take advantage of big sales even if you are not out of those items yet?

On pantry items with a long shelf life, it only makes sense to buy them when they are on sale. Everyone who eats at home should do this, it pays off long term. Why pay more for one of these items if you are using them regularly? Go for it.

Makes sense to stock up on canned items for sure. Or items like toilet paper, paper towels, etc.

@MarieCoyle I wish prices went down but not the case.

The prices of food are not going to automatically go down...and some things are hard to find here. If I find a good price on an item that can go in the pantry, that I know we will eat way before it expires and it's a regular item or something I cook with, I get it.

My budget only allows me to buy what I can use. Very few times anything extra, However, there have been time like I get two frozen bags of tater tots 5 lbs and then have one left over and then purchase again and stock up that way, On some other things also,

@lovebuglena We bought a 50 lbs plastic tote to put in the back of the kitchen and put sale items like that in it. We don't have room in the cupboards for that much of one thing but the tote keeps them off the floor and lets up buy sale items we know we'll use and keep them out of the way.

I wanted to buy canned tomatoes. It was 6/$8. That’s a great deal but no room in my pantry for that. I’d have to keep them in the garage which I didn’t want to do. I ended up not buying it because you had to buy six. I hate those kinds of deals where you can’t just get one or two.

Those prices are pretty nice. We need to stock up to have it on hand until the next sale.

@lovebuglena Heh. I don't have that much room around here. When Trump made toilet paper go away, I used paper towel to wipe my tush. I am pretty tough.

@TheHorse dry toilet paper isn’t soft enough lol. Do you have any room under your bed? That can be used for storage.

That’s a good idea if you have room to store it.

I don’t eat anything you named but cheese, but I’m all for stocking up on good sales as long as you know you have a reason to buy it. One of my late friends used to buy anything on sale, thinking she’d find a use for it eventually. She wasted so much stuff.

If you don’t use it or consume it there’s no point in buying it, even if on sale.

It’s very windy here so haven’t gone to the store. Maybe I will try today, even though still very windy.

I wish I had a huge pantry. I would really stock up on things. Don’t want to keep food items in the garage.

Yes, we do. Pretty pulls up apps on her phone and tells me what we're buying that gives cash back in the app after she scans in our receipt. Sometimes I veto something if we already have extra of it but usually we buy the good sale stuff.

I like when you can get more points for uploading a receipt if you purchase a specific item.

@lovebuglena I don't think we get points but I might be mistaken. Pretty always tells me this item gets $1 back if we purchase two of them. Today, we bought Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and got $4 back if we bought two boxes. I love those sandwiches so we bought two boxes.

@DaddyEvil Those J Dean sandwiches were a big item for my oldest brother, too. Do you mic them to heat them up?

I hate it when I buy something that seems like a good deal but then I find it for less somewhere else.

@lovebuglena If you miss out, you miss out. Not like it's the end of the world. But you WILL lose money ultimately when you eventually pay more because you waited. lol

Is that a store card or a credit card you are referring to?
