My musical ground zero in LA has been evacuated due to fire.

The Los Angeles CA area has been brutalized by at least three wildfires over the past few days. Mike's daughter's house (where I have stayed when our bands played LA gigs) has evacuated. I am not sure about my cousin in Pacific Palisades, as we are not in regular touch.
We have had some rains up here in Northern California. But apparently Southern California has not. They are also experiencing very strong winds. Mansions are going down like old wooden shacks. I think two deaths have been reported so far.
It is remarkably calm and clear up here in Pleasant Hill. I guess I should count my blessings. The sky is quite blue, meaning that there are no wildfires close by. Good earthquake weather.
Are things calm where you live? I am off to guitar Center. Wish me a "normal" day. I'll attach a link to some fire burning without gratuitous commentary.
Photo is of a Mt. Diablo fire here from a few years ago. I thought my horse would be scared, but she just kept on grazing like nothing was going on.

Could you please try to keep the snowstorm in your area? It's supposed to reach my area tomorrow afternoon through Friday morning. We already had more than I wanted to see on the ground. Thank you. I appreciate that.

Remember MAGA factor and just wait once the selective High Import Tariff condition set in.
I think once Trump gets in, much of the rhetoric will go away.

@vandana7 Trump has never won the popular vote. But the fact that almost half of voting Americans voted for him three times is scary. I think we need improvement in our educational system. But I have been involved in education for most of my life and still don't know what to do. To misquote Mark Twain, "There are many Americans who have developed strong opinions without the burden of thought (or research)."

We have fires here every year. That is so scary. I hope your family is alright. I don't think animals realize the harm that could come to them until it is right upon them.

I would think stress levels in the mind would be rather high when there are calamities like that all around as frequently. Even onset of winters can trigger those stress levels....some study should be done I suppose on this. India is comparatively much safer...such episodes are not annual...our storms over fill the drains..leading to drain water constantly flowing on the roads....that is extremely annoying, but fear for life loss is rather low, even though the drain covers disappear...

One of our drivers today, who took us to the VA, was listening to talk radio. And the LA wildfires came up. Apparently, Air B&B doesn't want to refund vacationers going to the evucated areas, because.... reasons. I hope yur friend, Mike and all those affected areokay. I'm glad you're safe.

Oh, how I hate that. There are a couple of musicians I know who live in L.A. I have heard from one of them but not the other.

From what I'm seeing on the news those fires are causing tons of evacuations and destruction. I'm glad you're in a safe area

Wherever Pony goes, fire follows........didn't you know? Not too long ago....he used to live in pleasant hill, and just a few weeks after he moved out ...it was "fired". Now he is at Walnut Creek....and we are inundated with fire news not too far from it.
Do you think he will pack his bags and leave or will he stay there to see the fire and come up with another post....knowing him well, he will stay......he has to prove ...he is brave...sigh...hope he does not get roasted.

Glad to hear you have not been impacted by the fires. At the same time, the fires are easily preventable if California wised up and ditched stupid, liberal environmental policies that caused them to stop managing the forests. Remove the underbrush, problem solved.

That is incorrect. The forests are managed here. When we have had fires, the issue is usually drought. We have had rain here in Northern California. But they have had little rain in Southern California. PG and E, Pacific Gas and Electric (our main provider of gas and electricity) has also been responsible for some of the fires (and explosions) here in California. They pay fines and then raise our rates. Can you understand, Jim, that you undermine your credibility (about things you DO know about) by making a bold but incorrect statement about a place you may not have visited (or hiked in) in ten or twenty years? It sounds almost a if you are repeating a Trump talking point. Do you remember the Paradise fire, in which my friend DID lose his house (and his Martin D-28 guitar)? Trump famously visited and thought the place was called "Pleasure." I think Jerry Brown was among those who discretely corrected him. If you want to understand California, ASK a few people who live here.
