Day 357 – Joy 1 Chronicles 15:1 David built houses for himself in the City of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of Elohiym and pitched a tent for it. 2 Then David said, “No one may carry the ark of Elohiym except the Levites, for JEHOVAH has chosen them to carry the ark of Elohiym and to minister before Him forever.” 3 David gathered everyone in Israel together at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of JEHOVAH to its place, which he had prepared for it. 4 Then David assembled the children of Aaron and the Levites: 5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and one hundred and twenty of his brethren; 6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and two hundred and twenty of his brethren; 7 of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and one hundred and thirty of his brethren; 8 of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and two hundred of his brethren; 9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and eighty of his brethren; 10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and one hundred and twelve of his brethren. 11 David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab. 12 He said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, so that you may bring the ark of JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel to the place I prepared for it. 13 For because you did not do it the first time, JEHOVAH our Elohiym broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.” 14 Then the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel. 15 The children of the Levites bore the ark of Elohiym on their shoulders, by its poles, as Moses had commanded according to the word of JEHOVAH. 16 Then David spoke to the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers accompanied by instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, by raising the voice with resounding joy. 17 Thus, the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of their brethren, the sons of Merari, Ethan the son of Kushaiah; 18 and with them their brethren of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Elipheleh, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the gatekeepers; 19 the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were to sound the cymbals of bronze; 20 Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with strings according to Alamoth; 21 Mattithiah, Elipheleh, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, to direct with harps on the Sheminith; 22 Chenaniah, leader of the Levites, was instructor in charge of the music, because he was skillful; 23 Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark; 24 Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were to blow the trumpets before the ark of Elohiym; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah, doorkeepers for the ark. 25 Thus David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH from the house of Obed-Edom with joy. 26 Thus, it happened, when Elohiym helped the Levites who bore the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH, they offered seven bulls and seven rams. 27 David clothed himself with a robe of fine linen, as the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the music master with the singers. David also wore a linen ephod. 28 Thus, everyone in Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH with shouting and with the sound of the horn, with trumpets and with cymbals, making music with stringed instruments and harps. 29 It happened, as the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH came to the City of David, that Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David whirling and playing music; and she despised him in her heart. God’s names: Elohiym – Supreme God JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Kurios – Supreme Authority God’s character: Helper Celebrations take place for many reasons and always with music so the people can enjoy the occasion. People prepare for the event by selecting the musicians for the event and sending out a public notification so people can come and enjoy the festivities. David researched the proper way to bring the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem. He selected the priests and Levites and appointed musicians to go ahead of the ark as he brought the ark to Jerusalem. When he brought the ark the proper way, JEHOVAH helped them, and everyone sang and danced before the ark as it came from the home of Obed-Edom to Jerusalem. David danced before JEHOVAH with his entire strength because of the joy in his heart to see the ark in the tabernacle once again. However, one person wasn’t happy to see David rejoicing before the ark wearing a linen ephod as the priests did, Michal, his wife. She despised him. How often as Christians do you come under criticism for what you do in celebrating what Yeshuwa did for you? People will write critical articles in social media, and you might see your celebrations on the news. Some of them will show the joy you have in your celebrations, while others will condemn your actions. You cannot please everyone when you make a joyful noise before Elohiym. How do you react to the criticism? Do you continue to celebrate, or do you refrain from the joy in your heart? David danced with everything in him because he loved JEHOVAH. When confronted by Michal’s criticism, he told her he would continue to show his love for JEHOVAH. 2 Samuel 6:16 Now as the ark of JEHOVAH came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before JEHOVAH; and she despised him in her heart. 20 Then David returned to bless his household. Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” 21 Then David said to Michal, “It was before JEHOVAH, who chose me instead of your father and his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of JEHOVAH, over Israel. Therefore, I will play music before JEHOVAH. 22 I will be even more undignified than this and will be humble in my own sight. As for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.” 23 Therefore, Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death. David told Michal about how he would conduct himself before JEHOVAH and refrained from further intimacy with her. When confronted with criticism, you are not to back down before your critics but let them know you will worship with joy before Yeshuwa whenever the occasion arises. It isn’t your critics who despise you, but Satan who wants to see your celebrations cease and will do whatever he can to stop you from displaying Yeshuwa’s blessings in your life to the extent of public criticism. When the joy of the Kurios rises in you. You cannot stop rejoicing for everything Yeshuwa does for you. You must proclaim His blessings from the rooftops if necessary and let everyone know what He did for you. What has Yeshuwa done for you? Let everyone know and rejoice with abandonment. Then everyone will know what Yeshuwa did for you just as everyone in Israel knew the joy of bringing the ark back to Jerusalem. Let’s pray: Father, let me rejoice before You with abandonment for the many blessings You give me every day. Let me shout Your praises from the rooftops and dance with joy for everything You do for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 9 January 2025 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

Many people criticize these religious celebrations. This is true for every faith. I go ahead with my religious festivals and celebrations despite the criticism. I have respect for every faith and I am proud to be one that I am born into. It's a great part of my identity. I praise my God and celebrate him, I am grateful for every little blessings.
