I still get mine from a friend who raises chickens, but I always check the prices. Last Saturday? There were no eggs to even purchase in the two stores I was in. A dozen at those two stores were about $4.50 then. A friend said yesterday they were $5.79

Yeah, some sell eggs around here..but I haven't seen any signs lately. I wonder what the local prices will be?

@MarieCoyle That is what these are normally, I don't know if they have raised the prices or what? When the farmers market starts back up, I will look and see if any are there. What do you trade for eggs?

My friend loves home baking and hates to cook. Anything chocolate is more than fine with her, she loves brownies, cookies, and muffins. I freeze soup for her at times. She isn’t picky and we just love this arrangement, we’ve done this for about 5 years now.

@snowy22315 Oh yeah, definitely. My dad and stepmom are friends with a couple who owns chickens, but don’t like eggs. They give them away for free, and boy do they have grateful people getting them now!

@AmbiePam I bet! I know there are a few farms here that sell eggs, but I haven't seen their sign up lately.

I didn't buy any, needless to say. I haven't been using a lot of them..but it was shocking.

I paid a little over $5.00 for mine. It was a carton of 18 large.

For 18, that passes for a good price these days.

Inflation in food is shocking, especially for eggs. Even here, we have seen a steep rise in the prices of eggs

@snowy22315 That is a good question. Guessing when the sickness the chickens have all goes away and the egg supply goes back to normal? But who knows

I am going to be curious what the local people are going to be charging for them.

@snowy22315 Local people, as in farmers in your area?
I would be careful buying ungraded eggs during these times with the bird flu being so bad.
Otherwise I just love free range brown eggs best of all.

Pretty isn't a fan of eggs but I eat them scrambled or boiled several times a week. We did our grocery shopping yesterday and paid $4.23 for an 18 pack of extra large eggs. That's high for our area but not as bad as people in other places are paying... or not paying. Someone said the price of eggs here was the lowest in the country but I can't remember who said that.

I haven't bought any in a few weeks but that does sound expensive. Eggs used to be affordable and help stretch the budget. Not any more

Same for me. 18 eggs for 10 dollars is insane

Eggs tend to be relatively cheap here under normal circumstances.
