Sell or Donate?

I was so excited to get a pair of shoes in the mail to review, but was so disappointed when I discovered they were the wrong size (my foot won’t even fit in them). The company told me to do what I wished with them, and my inclination was to donate them. But my sister looked up the retail price, and they are kind of expensive (at least to me) so she said to sell them (no, they aren’t like thousands of dollars). I also think it would be awkward to sell shoes online (probably via Facebook). Is that odd? I don’t know the size which is definitely a problem. I think it would be cool for someone to be at Goodwill and come upon nice, brand new shoes.
What do you guys think? Where would be a good place to sell them if I did?

I think selling them online would not be bad. Take a look inside the shoes and on the sole to see in there is a note of the size,

I guess either ebay or FB marketplace. There isn't a size number on them? It probably would be hard to sell them without that. But if you decide to donate them, I'd recommend Salvation Army. They do so much to help others. I like to shop at Good Will, but they are strictly for profit.

@AmbiePam I like to donate to homeless shelters, and to shops run by churches or our hospital auxiliary.

@GardenGerty I don’t know if they are practical for homeless shelters as the shoes are very dressy, but you never know.

It would be nice to take them to Goodwill or another charity.

@AmbiePam I was so thrilled to find a brand new pair of dressy black shoes at the hospital auxiliary shop. They were a brand I had seen online but had not purchased as I was skeptical. They are the best dress shoes, a little big but I have some special insoles that were good in them. I will definitely buy from this brand now that I have seen them in person.

You've looked for the size on the bottom of both shoes, on the inside heel of both shoes and looked at the bottom of the tongue (where the tongue would touch your ankle or there about), right? You could ask the company that sent them what size they actually sent. Other than that, I don't know how to locate a size, either.

From person experience I've sold shoes and other items on Ebay and appreciated the money I got. Ebay offers a buy it now option as well as an auction. Might be worth it to just search there and see if those shoes are selling and what they're selling for before you decide whether you want to do (sell or donate) Just a suggestion.
It's too bad those shoes aren't your size. I bet they're really nice.

I wouldn't sell them if I didn't know the size...I would donate them. Have a good weekend.

If they haven’t been worn, only tried on.. girl, sell ‘em!
Poshmark, or Depop.
The cost of living these days is absurd, (keep that in mind when you price them) but if it earns you a few extra bucks, I say go for it.
My niece had a pair of boots that she wore for maybe a year, and she still successfully sold them online, pretty sure it was on Depop.
:) Good luck

I had this funny thought in my head about Cinderella . . . that you could go around house to house til you found the person whose foot fit into that shoe perfectly
.
Me, I guess I would tend to donate them. If there is no size, then you might have to go through several people who will need to try them on before they decide to buy . . . in this case I'd want the fastest solution
.

If you really need some extra bucks, you can try selling them. You got it for free, so donating it to some needy will be equally fulfilling. It can be a really good and useful new year gift for someone.

i don't think selling them online would be a bad thing. you can measure their size and look up which size would that be. that's what i would do if i wanted to sell them

If there is someone who would be worthy of donation , then let the person have the same. If not , you can sell the same and if you are fine , use the amount to donate for some worthy cause. In that way , it is still worthy and you would have put the money and things in the best way possible. There is nothing wrong in selling something that is not going to be any use and there are no possibel takers when it comes to donation. Plus , you can use the money for a worthy cause of your choice. Not everyone gets opportunities like this. So, I would say go for it. Have a nice weekend!
