Sell or Donate?

I was so excited to get a pair of shoes in the mail to review, but was so disappointed when I discovered they were the wrong size (my foot won’t even fit in them). The company told me to do what I wished with them, and my inclination was to donate them. But my sister looked up the retail price, and they are kind of expensive (at least to me) so she said to sell them (no, they aren’t like thousands of dollars). I also think it would be awkward to sell shoes online (probably via Facebook). Is that odd? I don’t know the size which is definitely a problem. I think it would be cool for someone to be at Goodwill and come upon nice, brand new shoes. What do you guys think? Where would be a good place to sell them if I did?

I think selling them online would not be bad. Take a look inside the shoes and on the sole to see in there is a note of the size,

I still haven’t found the size, but I’m trying to ask the company.

I guess either ebay or FB marketplace. There isn't a size number on them? It probably would be hard to sell them without that. But if you decide to donate them, I'd recommend Salvation Army. They do so much to help others. I like to shop at Good Will, but they are strictly for profit.

@AmbiePam I like to donate to homeless shelters, and to shops run by churches or our hospital auxiliary.

@GardenGerty I don’t know if they are practical for homeless shelters as the shoes are very dressy, but you never know.

I tell you, Vicki, I looked everywhere. And thank you for informing me about Goodwill. I will definitely take them to Salvation Army if I donate them.

It would be nice to take them to Goodwill or another charity.

You could try to sell them on eBay.

You've looked for the size on the bottom of both shoes, on the inside heel of both shoes and looked at the bottom of the tongue (where the tongue would touch your ankle or there about), right? You could ask the company that sent them what size they actually sent. Other than that, I don't know how to locate a size, either.

I looked all those places, DE, can you believe I still couldn’t find it? I mean, after I read your response I went back and checked again. I did ask the company, but haven’t heard back. My uneducated guess is a size 6.

Since it was from an online company that was giving them for review, free of charge, I can’t do that. Because that would definitely be what I would do if I had bought them, you’re right.

Ebay! Or Facebook Marketplace. That's odd that there is no size on them! In that case I would put them up against a ruler to show a length for people.

I think that it would be wasteful not to try to sell them. But I have to ask will they fit Amyra? She may like them.

Yes, that was my first thought! But Amyra wears size 8 1/2, and I’m getting close to saying these are a size 6. I definitely plan on Amyra trying them on though, as that would be my ideal solution.

@AmbiePam My Mom wore a size 6, and we used to tease her that she had kiddy feet. My Dad's were a 12, and were actually 12 inches long, when we were kids we measured them once. As far as my feet are concerned, my feet take after my Dad.

Marketplace on FB? At least it would be local and you might not have to pay for shipping.

It seems a bit odd that the size isn't on them somewhere. Maybe you just measure from toe and heel and mention that.

They aren’t very practical shoes. You definitely wouldn’t want to wear them for every day use. Of course, who’s to say they won’t have special occasions to attend themselves.

There are a few shops that except second hand clothing or you could try ebay

Oh, second hand shops aren’t a bad idea at all, although I don’t know that they’d get a good amount to make it worth it. On the other hand, anything is better than nothing. Thank you for that idea.

I am not sure if good will would take them. But, THere's a lot of places. You can always go to a second-hand store and pawn them off if you wanted to get some cash for them.

Sorry you can't find the size. That's a good question whether to sale or donate though. I honestly don't know what I'd do either.
