What are big news stories in your area?

In this region, it is the fact that Richmond City has has been under a boil of water advisory for the past several days due to a power failure in the big storm. It was supposed to be drinkable today though, but haven't seen an update on that today. I know when I was in Kroger earlier this week, people were buying bottled water it was going out of style, and some were hoarding. What is happening in your area?

Local news include corruption and violation. But the big news come from Venezuela. Maduro did it again ilegally.

There was a train derailment a couple of cities over that is the most recent news, but they don’t think it poses an environmental risk. How nice that they THINK that. But the story that never seems to go is where to build the new jail. It has to be built in Oklahoma City, but everyone (rightly) has a cow when it gets set to be built near them. They’re going to have to do it soon though. The current jail is not safe for prisoner OR guard.

They got it back yesterday. There was a big story on the news which showed the mayor chugging a glass of water!

Local news seems to surround the homelessness situation in the area.
The stores seem more heart-wrenching when it is really cold outside like now.
The other 'big' story on the national news was the water plane that was flown in from Quebec to help with the fire fighting efforts in California and was damaged by a drone that put a hole in its wing. Another plane that drops water is on its way to replace that one in order to continue with the assistance.

Thanks we are still cold with snow on the ground. I think it might be a bit cooler than yesterday, but morning will be warm.
