China Rules

In 1995, when Jamaica first got on the Internet, I was in discussion with a chap from Kenya who told me how China had 'invaded' . What he told me about this 'invasion' was repeated by other Third World nations and soon, Jamaica. From electronic goods to shoes, everything seemed to come from China. Years ago, if you went to a supermarket the shelves were full of America stuff, from Campbell to Kraft to Heinz.. on and on. Now, there are few American goods. Years ago, shops were full of 'Made in America', now, it is China. Our infra-structure, roads and bridges are built by the Chinese. Just like other Third World countries. It is not surprising China has made a trillion dollars and is the world's biggest economy. The last time Trump was in power and started his trade war we were one of many countries which profited. We got soy beans so cheaply we fed them to chickens and the price fell by half. We sold all the lobsters we could catch to China. When Trump restarts his trade war we, and the rest of the world will feast.

I think China is extending their grip in trading products and goods. They have a lot of resources I think that makes production easier .

China focused on countries others ignored. They moved into 3rd world nations which bought their cheap goods and created various schemes; Belt and Road for example. The roads and bridges built in Jamaica from 2000 are basically done by China. They replaced America.
