A belated and welcome gift

I mentioned my kitchen light mess when my friends were over on my birthday. Neither one of them is young and both have health issues. Both are giants! Both the wife and husband must be about six foot tall. Not joking. And big around. AND sweet people.
Today the wife messaged me: do you still need light bulbs installed in your kitchen? I said yes. So hubby showed up in the afternoon. Wow he has a stride. He strode out to the shed, grabbed the six foot ladder like it was a toothpick and in it went into the kitchen. He said he could get on the ladder without an issue though not too often in one day. He had those bad guy light bulbs out in just a couple of minutes and the better ones in- the fixture needs two bulbs. What a relief. I will continue to use the lamp by the stove but having super bright overhead light is also welcome.

That’s great! I’m glad he was able to do that.
I need to get my dad to change my fluorescent bulbs in my kitchen. I’ve been using my cell phone light to get around (no windows in the kitchen), but it’s been four months, and I really need to be able to see. Come to think of it, my dad was the one who changed them last time. I wish you could see him up on the step stool, and me behind him like I could actually catch him if he fell.

@allknowing Thanks. Overhead lights are nice but sometimes a pain.

The older I get, the better lights I need. Fortunatly the last kitchen lights are very light AND LED. I have to get someone to change the lamps too. I can´t step even to a low chair.

I gave up my ladder a long time ago, with my wacky leg, I decided that I didn't need it around to tempt me anymore...I do have a little step stool, but that's it. How nice of him to come over and help you, and now you have good lights to see by!

That is great. I have recessed lighting and only one bulb in working now. I have bought lots of replacement bulbs and non fit. They told me at the hardware store, one reason why is that they don't make that type anymore! Huh,? Anyway, a handyman who was here sat they would need to be retro fitted which would cost about 300 bucks, but to me it would be worth it to have enough light in there.

@snowy22315 That's awful. Weird that your lighting is so specialized. If you can afford it, you probably should have that handyman retrofit the lights.

@Tampa_girl7 I am with you there. And I love having windows for natural light.
