An emu whose gender is not known managed to escape its home in Delmarva Springs Maryland on New Years Day. The Maryland State Police are reporting the news that the emu has been seen running on the streets of Mardela Springs. The owner of the emu is working with the Wicomico County Animal Control investigators to try to locate and capture the emu. The authorities are telling anyone who sees the emu wandering on the streets to stay away from the emu and report the emu's location to the Wicomico County Animal Control since it is dangerous for anyone to attempt to capture an emu. @MarieCoyle That is true that emu are hard to catch in an open field.

It might be hard to round up, as they can run at speeds of around 30 miles per hour, and if you get too close, an emu kick, might not be nice to experience either.

That is true since I have heard about the mean kicks from an emu.
