We all get invited for events The trend now is to invite even though there could be some kind of discord between the host and the invitee. The invitee will accept the invitation and attend the event.
I belong to the old school of thought where only when the relationship between the host and the invitee was good that the invitee accepted the invitation.
At a recent Meet at our house many among those had stayed away for years. I did not let that hamper the event and we all had a good time but I would have preferred if all of them were in my life
I have made an appeal to them You can see that in the image.

You have said it well. It should appeal to them. These days people are so busy, though not in real sense. Many unwanted things occupy their time and space. Keeping the personal connection and nurturing it takes a backseat. We live in such times, where unnecessary noises have taken the priority and personal relationships are sidelined.

They have gone their way with no phones, no mail nothing but when they were here they participated fully and enjoyed what I delivered to them.
It is a sad state of affairs.

@allknowing It's an universal thing now. I am glad that they enjoyed and were fully involved. At least they had a good time.

@allknowing oh I see in this part I misunderstood what you meant “ when the relationship between the host and the invitee was good that the invite accepted the invitation”. I thought there was bitterness or something that kept people away I didn’t treatise time just past and people lost touch with each other.

Let bygones be bygones is only about the hurts and not the help that one extended.
