Neighbors in Perryville Missouri saw a mixed breed dog named Behrle who had her hind leg trapped in a hunting trap for about a week when the not for profit group called Stray Rescue managed to rescue the dog on Monday January 14. Homeowners in Perryville had a hard time removing the hunting trap from the one year old male dog named Behrle when they called the Stray Rescue team to remove the hunter trap from his leg in St. Louis Missouri.. Behrle was taken by his rescuers to the Stray Rescue Animal Hospital where veterinarian Dr. Edie Oliver made the decision to amputate below the ankle of the dog. The good news is that Behrle will make a full recovery and he will be placed in a foster home where hopefully he will be adopted by a loving family. Dr. Oliver wishes that hunters find a more humane to trap animals to place traps for animals. I am in agreement with the doctor in this case. Link is wcjb.com/2025/01/15/hes...

I am angry as well that a dog was hurt by a hunting trap.

Getting caught in a trap would be incredibly painful for a dog.

Well, the dog will recover but, perhaps not fully, as it will always be minus a foot now, but we know what you mean. A terrible thing to happen to such a young dog.

That is true since a dog having to walk with three legs is not going to be fun.

I hate animal traps. They snap so hard, and nearly always shatter the leg bone beyond repair. There are many animals that get so frantic that they literally chew their leg off to escape the trap. So horribly painful.
