During my almost 2 weeks stay in Sri Lanka I spent 4 days at the capital Colombo. it's a beautiful small city and the people very friendly. There are many places to see in Colombo. We saw old architecture from the British days when it was a colony of Great Britain. One of the places to see is a massive statue of Lord Buddha who is the patron God of the island. Buddha as we know is the founder of the Buddhist religion and 75% of the people there are Buddhists. Many Buddhist temples are there but the main focus is a massive Statue of the Lord in the centre of the city. Along with the Buddha statue one can also have dinner at the revolving restaaurant.I could go there and the restaurant was great. One can also buy wonderful items locally made. All in all it's a peaceful place and one can have a wonderful and quiet holiday
