Crystal Lake Illinois residents Kate Belmonte and her fiance David Nowak were sad to learn that their dog Charlie went missing from their home on Monday December 30 after the dog left his home during a foggy morning.
The couple received help from a company named Dog Gone Pet Recovery used a thermal drone to locate Charlie.
Dog Gone Pet Recovery had assistance from Mike who operate a company called SmithicAir who was able to locate Charlie who was located near Huntley and Ackman Roads which is about two minutes from the home on Sunday.
Kate said that Charlie was hiding in tall grass. Charlie was taken to a local animal hospital for surgery to repair a broken leg.
Charlie is going to return with his owner on Tuesday to the delight of his owner.

That is excellent news. Good use of technology. In fact the best part is perhaps Charlie was found at right time as with a broken leg and cold conditions , it would have been tough to survive in the woods. Well, companies such as SmithicAir should be promoted as they could many a time locate lost pets at the earliest and easiest ways. It could help us humans who are tapped in inhuman conditions such as while trekking in mountains.Charlie was lucky and hopefully will recover and be happy with the family early next week. As usual thanks for sharing such wonderful animal rescue news.

My pleasure to share this good news story on this site since I love dogs even though I do not own any dogs now. Just cats.

I know what you mean since an injured dog will now be able to be with his owners after an operation.

I guess it will never be found out how the dog broke its leg there, but in those circumstances it was great it was found and the leg taken care of.
