I just read a report that left me feeling validated and left me thinking. Around fifty thousand good people are marching in Washington D. C. and more around the country- why? To protest Trump. To be in unity about: women's rights, gay rights, human rights, immigrants, and on we go...... So I am not alone. The report that I just read said that more and more therapists are getting concerned clients coming in and letting loose about their angst- can I say that? Their fears, their worries, their need to live a good life that is not centered around racism and hate and shoving down others rights. I am going to have a discussion about this with my hubby. We have talked about our fears before but this time around I want to acknowledge and let my hubby know that we are united as we enter another four year period of chaos and possible hate. We already are trying to engage in helpful ways with our community. Somehow we must double our efforts. May we find pockets of peace as we avoid the local news.

Eva, our world in general needs more love and kindness. And you are correct, it helps so much.

@snowy22315 It will be peaceful if nasty people don't come looking for a fight.

@sallypup I like to do that with gifts to shop from local crafters etc. but the prices at our local stores are too costly. For example someone just shared that eggs are almost $7 a dozen at the local store and I got them for $4.17 at aldis yesterday. When items are two to three dollars more per item it’s beneficial to those of us who can drive to go the 30 miles to aldis and Walmart once a week or every other week and stock up. It saves us a lot of money!

@shaggin My hubby and I have always tried to pull together. We buy from small businesses as much as we can because doing that helps the community.

@shaggin I hear you. I just paid $4.99 for a dozen eggs at Safeway. I will go on Welfare before I shop at Walmart. So far we are surviving without having to give up the small guys.

You are definitely not alone. This has been the topic of discussion with my hubby and other like minded friends for months. I think it will be good to continue sharing our thoughts and feelings . . . keeping us united and hopefully being able to come up with solutions to help this crazy world we live in.

@sallypup Oh gosh, I know what you mean about that "feeling". And in a way, I feel like I'm almost grieving about life as it used to be. I mean, the things I grew up knowing I could always rely on (that perhaps we took for granted) - like democracy and human decency - seem to be walking out the door. We do need to keep up being mindful, respectful, with compassion, dignity, and civility . . . keep virtuosity alive before it becomes a lost art.

@much2say Exactly. Taken for granted- I have the sense that you have some education. I also mourn what appears to be the loss of literacy and the need for learning.

That sounds like a good plan to me. I'll avoid anything to deal with Trump starting tomorrow.

@JudyEv I think we continue along that path. There are some strong factions here that are quite distressing in their meanness.

@sallypup I can understand that. It seemed for a while that the US was very close to civil war.

I am worried for the Mexicans that were born here since Trump wants to deport them to.

@jstory07 True. Our food prices are going to go even higher if there isn't enough folks in the field to gather the crops.
