Honesty is the Best Policy (and the Best Debt Repayment Strategy!)

We've all been there – a tight spot, a helping hand, and a promise to pay back. But life throws curveballs, and sometimes, those promises slip through the cracks. It's easy to let guilt fester, but remember, honesty is always the best policy. Open communication with your friend or acquaintance is key. Explain the situation honestly and transparently. They're more likely to understand and work with you if you're upfront about your challenges. Repaying debts, especially to those close to us, isn't just about the money. It's about trust, respect, and maintaining healthy relationships. Let's prioritize integrity and build stronger bonds based on honesty and mutual understanding. Let's commit to open communication and responsible debt repayment. Let's choose honesty every time!

Some people borrow money that you know you’ll never get back. They’re lying through their teeth when they tell you they will.

I never have to worry about this since I have a very solid rule I never falter on. I do not loan money to anyone. Including family. Period. Besides, to me, the LAST person I want to loan money to is someone in a financial situation as the reason for needing the loan. It's almost a guarantee I will struggle to get to get my money back AND have to fight tooth in nail with them to get it back. I also shy from taking on personal debt. If borrowing does not offer leverage for an appreciating asset, it's not good debt, and is therefore useless.

Being honest one of the best things possible but then it is always tough to do as well all the time. People would at times would like to hide some of the facts fro oters perhaps to protect themselves or to exploit others. But the trust is not something we can gain easily and it can take time. Repaying debts requires lot of commitment and honesty. Honesty helps in building long term relationships. I have also noticed in corporate world, honesty is less as profit and business is main motive. Well, I am working on debt repayment and well being honest to self and others have helped me in decreasing a bit of debt. There is still a long way to go!
