God’s Names and Character
Year 2
Day 1 – Celebration
1 Chronicles 29:1 Furthermore, King David said to the assembly, “My son Solomon, whom alone Elohiym chose, is young and inexperienced; and the work is great, because the temple is not for man but for JEHOVAH Elohiym. 2 Now, for the house of my Elohiym I prepared with my might: gold for things to be made of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, wood for things of wood, onyx stones, stones to be set, glistening stones of various colors, every kind of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance. 3 Moreover, because I set my affection on the house of my Elohiym, I gave to the house of my Elohiym, over and above everything I prepared for the holy house, my special treasure of gold and silver: 4 three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses; 5 the gold for things of gold and the silver for things of silver, and for every kind of work done by the hands of craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself on this day to JEHOVAH?”
6 Then the leaders of the fathers’ houses, leaders of the tribes of Israel, the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king’s work, offered willingly.
7 They gave for the work of the house of Elohiym five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents of silver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. 8 Whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of JEHOVAH, into the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Then the people rejoiced, for they offered willingly, because with a loyal heart they offered willingly to JEHOVAH; and King David also rejoiced greatly.
10 Therefore, David blessed JEHOVAH before the assembly; and David said, “Blessed are You, JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel, our Ab, forever and ever. 11 Yours, O JEHOVAH, is greatness, power and glory, victory and majesty; for everything in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O JEHOVAH, and You are exalted as head over everything. 12 Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over everything. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to everyone. 13 Now therefore, our Elohiym, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. 14 However, who am I, and who are my people, that we should offer so willingly as this? For everything comes from You, and of Your own we gave You. 15 For we are aliens and pilgrims before You, as were our fathers; our days on earth are like a shadow, and without hope. 16 O JEHOVAH our Elohiym, this abundance we prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand and belongs to You. 17 I know also, my Elohiym, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I willingly offered these things; and now with joy I saw Your people, present here offer willingly to You. 18 O JEHOVAH Elohiym of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You. 19 Give my son Solomon a loyal heart to keep Your commandments and Your testimonies and Your statutes, to do these things, and to build the temple for which I made provision.”
20 Then David said to the assembly, “Now bless JEHOVAH your Elohiym.” Then the assembly blessed JEHOVAH Elohiym of their fathers and bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before JEHOVAH and the king.
21 They made sacrifices to JEHOVAH and offered burnt offerings to JEHOVAH on the next day: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for Israel.
22 Thus, they ate and drank before JEHOVAH with great gladness on that day. Then they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him before JEHOVAH to be the leader, and Zadok to be priest.
23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of JEHOVAH as king instead of David his father and prospered; and everyone in Israel obeyed him.
24 The leaders and the mighty men, and the sons of King David, submitted themselves to King Solomon.
25 Thus, JEHOVAH exalted Solomon exceedingly in the sight of Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
26 Thus, David the son of Jesse reigned over Israel. 27 The period he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and thirty-three years he reigned in Jerusalem.
28 Then he died in a good old age, full of days and riches and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.
29 Now the acts of King David, first and last, indeed they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer, 30 with his reign and his might, and the events that happened to him, to Israel, and to the kingdoms of the lands.

People celebrate when they break ground for their special projects. There is much merry making because the work is about to begin.
David told the people what he did to prepare for the building of the temple of JEHOVAH Elohiym. He also told the people Elohiym chose Solomon to reign in his place. Then he asked who would also provide with a willing heart for the temple, and the people gave willingly to the building of the temple.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, Yeshuwa poured into you everything you needed to do His work. He gave you gifts and talents for the work of the ministry.
1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.
2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
3 Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking by the Pneuma of Theos calls Iesous accursed, and no one can say Iesous is Kurios except by the Hagios Pneuma.
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Pneuma.
5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Kurios.
6 There are diversities of activities, but it is the same Theos who works throughout everything.
You are the temple of Theos. Your foundation is His Word.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Iesous Christos.
12 Now, if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of Theos and the Pneuma of Theos dwells in you?
17 If anyone defiles the temple of Theos, Theos will destroy him. For the temple of Theos is holy, which temple you are.
Everything you do, then, is for Theos’ glory and honor. When you do the work of the ministry according to His will, you bring honor to Him in everything you do, and He will reward you for your faithful service.
What did Theos call you to do? Do it with your entire might and strength. Then the reward He gives you will cause you to celebrate because your work is for Him alone, not for your glory.
Let’s pray: Father, You prepared me for today to give You honor and glory in everything I do. You instilled in me the gifts and talents I need to do the work of the ministry. Let me give You praise for everything You gave me as I do Your work with joy. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
