A book that was checked out by a woman that was the autobiography of Igor Stravinsky in April 4, 1952 that was supposed to be returned to the New York Public Library two weeks later than the checkout date was not returned in time.
Billy Parrott who is the director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library in New York City received a phone call from the 5th Avenue Branch that a man claiming to be the son of the woman of checked out the book that was written in 1936 around Christmas that the book had been returned.
The woman who checked out the book 72 years ago never returned the book since she forgot to return the book.
The good news is that the library in New York City will not charge late fees since they dropped that requirement in 2021.
The book that was returned to the library will not be in circulation.

That is quite an old book, and it makes you think about how many "people" forget to return a borrowed book to the library.

That's a few years. Glad someone cared enough to get it back to the library.

It's good that libraries don't charge fees when books have been missing for decades.
