I borrowed Anna Karenina from the library on January 2nd. It is due January 23rd.
According to Goodreads I’ve read 71% of the book. I have about 218 pages left to read.
I’m not sure if I will be able to do that by the 23rd. Luckily the book has been automatically renewed. It is now due February 13th.
I will definitely finish it by then. Though I am hoping to finish it by this weekend. I want to move on to other books.

Anna Karenina is not one of the Russian books I liked best. But still, it is a very good book.

Do you have a favorite Russian book? Have you ever seen the movie?

I read that once long ago. I don't remember much about it anymore. I think it was good when I read it. I also read War and Peace. It was a difficult book. I saw the movie and did not like it. It seemed like they were dragging a cannon over the ice for most of it.

@akalinus I find this book to be a bit too long. Not sure if it’s necessary to have it be that long.

@lovebuglena Our 'proper' libraries are like that bur this library is just for the people in the village. We all donate books to it if we want to but only fiction and autobiographies.

Our loan is three weeks. If a new book it’s less. And there’s an option to renew if no hold has been placed on a book.

I am coming to the end of my book. This is the second time I am reading it and I am left with the same opinion that I want to throttle Vronsky,

@lovebuglena Sometimes, I am still living in the past. I remembered renewing a book by calling. I forget we can do things on the computer.

@akalinus I did that in the past. Not sure if that option still exists.

They automatically renew it once if a hold is not placed on it. But in general you renew books online. You can maybe even do it in person. Not sure if there is an option to renew by phone.
