Trump doesn't know the difference between political asylum and an insane asylum

We all know that Trump lies as he breathes, makes stuff up, and isn't particularly interested in becoming educated on national or world issues. I could write 2 books on the insane stuff he has claimed and I'm not even an author. I never did understand where he kept coming up with the claim that foreign countries were emptying out mental institutions and "insane asylums" into the US. I know he says stupid stuff every day but that persistent thing never checked out for me. Well this morning it finally made sense. I was up at the usual time but didn't have to jump out of bed due to a delayed opening. I was scrolling through Twitter and BAM--there is was. Trump thinks that "asylum" automatically means mental asylums. I'm sure he has been given many briefs that he didn't bother to read. I'm sure *some* advisors have tried to explain the difference but he is so hard-headed that he didn't listen. Now it makes sense. What doesn't make sense is Trump's anti-immigrant and now the anti-birthright citizenship push. I get that he has to present as a racist for his MAGA cult. But Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Barron all would lose birthright citizenship if his deranged anti-Constitution plan went through. Neither Ivana nor Melania were naturalized citizens when 4 of his 5 children were born. Only Tiffany who has been the ignored child would be safe since her mother is Marla Maples. No one ever accused Trump of being intelligent. One of his former UPenn professors has repeated that he was the stupidest student he ever had. Well what would you expect from someone who had to pay another person to take his SATs?
