Hello again, myLot! I went this morning to get my EBT card renewed, and they kept insisting that I (this was in recent weeks, not just today) that I missed meetings regarding my EBT card... So because of these "missed meetings", I had to make one with the lady I spoke to, and she said I could either wait four hours to see someone or I could come back at seven in the morning. I knew that there was no way I could make it over there by 7 a.m., so I opted to wait. I'm so glad that at least I remembered to bring a book, which I got through quite a bit of while I was sitting there. At one point a lady came over from the front desk and apologized to me for the way things were. I knew it wasn't their fault, it was the goofy government rules. When I finally saw someone, because my income went up $200 (from $1400 to $1600 from my share of the rent from the house my brother and I own), my EBT amount that I get every month went down. Thankfully, there are other ways to get food. As I was walking into the parking lot after getting off the bus, the lady I'd seen called and said that because I have "too much" income, I had to change health insurance, too. Thankfully it's still free, but I have to take care of that tomorrow. So glad to be home. Ain't the U.S. government wonderful?

I’ve had my benefits cut or canceled because I “didn’t respond” to their communication. We all know those attempts were never made.
