Baked Potato Lazy

I have to tell you, I love me a baked potato. Cook it up and slather it with butter and cheese and bacon bits, even some sour cream. Back in the day I did them proper. Dredge them in butter and garlic powder, maybe even a little Parmesan. Wrap them in foil and bake them and then pull them out of the oven and put on all the goodies. But it's been forever since I have done them that way. Anymore, all I do is put them in the microwave for about 5 minutes on each side and voila! It's a baked potato. But they still turn out delicious. How do you make your baked potatoes?

Anymore, it's so quick and easy to do it that way, and saves a ton of energy too.

I rarely eat a baked potato unless I'm baking it sliced with onions, carrots, and chicken and then pour Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup over everything before I stick it in the oven.

Definitely microwaved, because I don’t have a stove.

Like you in the microwave. I can't remember the last time I actually baked one in the oven.

It has been a while for me too. Technically, I COULD have done them in the oven this last round considering I was baking chicken thighs. Would have been easy peasy lemon squeezy.

The nice thing about a potato is that you can pretty much put whatever you want on them. It's just good eats.

I nuke my potatoes, too. But when I was a child, we used to throw a few into the trash fire (trash fires were allowed way back then). Had to brush off the ashes, but they tasted great.

Lately, I have only been eating frozen fries and tater tots. When I did make baked potatoes I liked them with sour cream other times with butter, When baking I don't put anything on them,

Generally, in the microwave like you. But if we have the oven on for some other reason we pop them in there after microwaving because then you get the nice crispy skin as well.

I actually do have to say I PREFER a baked potato done in the oven. I technically could do this more often when I am baking something anyway. Like last night when I was baking the chicken thighs, it would have taken nothing to put the potatoes in when I did that.

I’ve never baked a potato in the microwave. If I buy Idaho potatoes I usually either mash them or cut them and fry them. Sometimes I buy a bag of small potatoes (usually mix of red, white, and purple) cut them in half, season with olive oil, salt, and other spices, and bake for 30 min at 400 F in my Breville toaster oven. Turn out really good.
