So much for that whole GOP "looking forward" thing

The hypocrisy is astounding. When Trump suddenly pardoned 1500+ January 6 rioters (many of whom violently attacked US Capitol and DC Metro police officers) on Monday Republican members of Congress didn't want to talk about it and they were all "we are looking forward" and "it is the president's right to do that". Okay. Fine. Well now the GOP-led House has announced that it will be investigating the pardons that Biden gave to his family members. (wait--I thought it was his right??) Speaker Mike Johnson announced today that they are forming a new January 6 committee to investigate. . . the former January 6 House Select Committee. (wait--I thought they were looking forward?) Their new talking point about the pardoning of violent thugs who attacked the US Capitol and law enforcement is that they have served long enough time in prison. (wait--I thought they backed the blue?) This all has happened in like the past 2 days since Trump was afraid of publicly signing the pardons and he did it in the middle of the night. The Republicans literally changed their tune over the course of 48 hours. Do they think that normal SANE Americans don't have a working short-term memory? It would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic.

News flash: they're in Congress. They don't care what the voters think.

The thing is, don't Americans deserve answers to questions they have had for a VERY long time? And why not give them? Straight up with no frill and no bias. Just get the answers. We KNOW the laptop was hidden from us, so what did it have on it? Were the accusations of a Biden crime ring wrong, or right? We should KNOW. January 6th offered more questions than answers. WERE they all Trump supporters? Why did Nancy Pelosi refuse the 10,000 troops Trump offered to protect the Capitol days before the riot? Can the images of Capitol Police opening doors for protesters be explained? Was there funding, as has been suspected, from Soros and Antifa? When the committee was formed, why were the ONLY people allowed on the committee to investigate those who felt Trump did something wrong? We should KNOW. What were the directives of the White House to control certain information about the election and about covid that we NOW have learned, straight from the horse's mouth, from people like Zuckerberg, that the government DID directly coordinate information and "encouraged" social media to sequester other information. We should KNOW. Why were NO criminal charges, complaints, indictments or cases brought against Trump UNTIL he announced he would be running for president? Did the directives come from Garland, controlled by the White House? Was the purpose to pursue justice, or was it to remove a political opponent from the race? We should KNOW. When was it clearly apparent to White House staff and other high ranking government officials that Biden's mental acuity was in decline, and what efforts were made to hide the truth, and what dangers did that pose to our country? In addition to that, if Biden wasn't running the country, because he was incapable of doing it, WHO exactly WAS running the country, and what are the constitutional ramifications of our head of state NOT being an elected official? We should KNOW. The bottom line is that in order to move forward, we HAVE to know what happened in all of these situations because some of the consequences of NOT knowing have very serious implications for America. If we cannot trust our government, we cannot move forward. If we cannot rely on our justice system to be fair and just, we cannot move forward. If our elections cannot be fair and accurate and we cannot have the full confidence that they are, we cannot move forward. If we have news and social media directed by the government to control the flow of information, limit speech, and flip switches to silence dissenting voices, we cannot move forward.

The House Select committee filed like an 800 page report. Jack Smith filed his report. We have answers. You just don’t like them.

@NJChicaa Like you always do, you MISS the point. WHO filed the report? Who was involved in writing the report? If 10 people who all believe 9/11 was perpetrated by George W. Bush get together and write a report, of COURSE the report will support the claim of the consensus that all 10 people agree on. Where was Jim Jordan's part? Oh wait, he wasn't allowed to be on the committee because he would have asked questions contrary to what the committee wanted to find. DUH!
