Our sweet granddoggie, Eleanor, Ellie for short, isn't well as of late.
At her physical exam they noticed her limping more than usual and not the kind that a 12 year old dog would do as a natural part of the aging process. They x-rayed it and found a 'bit' of cancer of her toe.
We have noticed for quite some time that she favours that toe and will never let you touch it. The vet put a protective sock over it. Originally my hubs thought that it was her front left paw, but it is her back left paw.
This morning she was at the vet again. They x-rayed it to see if it had spread. The good news was that it had not spread. They called our son with that news as he needed to authorize surgery.
The procedure was early this afternoon. It was supposed to be this morning, but they had a procedure run longer than they expected.
They will send off the toe for a biopsy to see if it is cancer, sometimes looks can be deceiving. I hope that she has more years ahead of her, the girls absolutely love her and refer to her as their big Sissy.
She has been on my mind all day long today. I love that dog.

Now she will be on my mind all day too I love animals. Hope Ellie gets cured. Our Preiti was a dignified lady She lived for 12 years.

It is hard when pets get sick. I hope she will be around for a few more years. It doesn't sound super serious at this point anyway, and hopefully the procedure got it all.

Ellie is absolutely adorable. I hope she will be all right, I will put her in my prayers, Two things I always do is pray for children and animals,

Thank you, I appreciate the prayers.
She is a registered therapy dog, and up until covid, our son took her to scheduled visits at the youth group home. She provided so much comfort to those living there.
This is a picture of the day that our son and his wife picked her up from the breeder.
