How do you cope when you realize that you have forgotten something as it was misplaced

I was in a hurry in the morning to work. After driving a bit, realized I am not wearing my watch. Worse, this was all because I had misplaced it and it was not in its usual place. I usually keep certain things at specific spots. I could have driven back to home but then I would be late and that would be even more frustrating. I guess I did not get much frustrated about same as I could look at time with help of smartphone or laptop. But then I realized I did have couple of occasions where I had forgotten to carry things like credit card during my recent vacation, documents to office or laptop charger to office. Well, atleast now I use my to-do list before a trip to take care of such issues. Did you ever had a situation where you realized that you forgot something because it was misplaced and how did you cope with same?

Forgetting things is part of life. We pack so much into a day, it's not surprising when we forget things. A to-do list is handy and helpful.

I definitely agree on that point- having a to-do list help in most cases. However, we do nnot wrote list to wear watch or carry smartphone. But these could be essential ones that we need.

well, i freaked out when i didn't find my purse where my wallet is and i thought i left it in a store. turned out it wasn't on a table, where i usually leave it, it was on a plastic shelf in a corner.

I can imagine the fear you felt. Luckily you got the same from a more convenient place!

Hope it wasn't something important. Or be honest and admit I misplaced it.

Lol! I am frustrated the whole day, and I cannot move on until I got home and see the things I forgot. It will makes me anxious actually the whole day, and I'll try to pause a bit and take a deep breath and divert my mind in other things, but in a minute that I remember I forgot something it will frustrate me again but not too much... just a normal irritation. Lol!

Yes, it could be frustrating when we forgot things we normally carry when we go outdoors. Good that you take off your mind and not over think on those. Thanks for sharing!

I misplace my spectacles all the time. I don't cope. I get mad. I call my son to help me. I can't see anything without my spectacles. And I have two. Wish I could somehow regain my sight and see without glasses.

That is something which happens to me at home .Would not find it in usual places and then I have to trace back on where I had gone and then it will be there somewhere I would have kept without thinking much. Not having the spectacles can definitely get us insane.

What drives me nuts is the rare occasion I forget my smartphone. That’s not just my watch, GPS, and phone, but the only way I get online. So I really need to have that with me.

I can understand how that feels like.It is like you lost an important organ.Smartphone has become more than just a calling device.

I make lists for many occasions now. My memory isn't as good as it used to be.
