Thanks to the teamwork of a Neenah Wisconsin resident named Tanner Ater as well as deputies with the Winnebago County Sheriffs Office (WCSO) who rescued two persons who were inside of a car that fell down an embankment after the car hit a fire hydrant after falling off of a road on Monday night and landed on the side. Tanner heard the screams of one of the passengers who was inside of the car when Tanner used a fire extinguisher to use it on the engine compartment. Tanner was able to get the passenger out of the car by fighting through a large cloud of smoke safely. Shortly thereafter a deputy with the WCSO came to rescue the driver of the car with the help of Tanner to get the driver out of harm's way before the car went in flames. A firefighter with the Neenah Menasha Fire Department came to the scene of the accident to put out the fire. An ambulance took both the driver and passenger to a local hospital to be treated of their injuries. Link is fox11online.com/news/local/nee...

I am in agreement with you that both the passenger and driver are happy to be rescued by a stranger and a deputy in the auto accident.

Too many cars seem to catch on fire after an accident these days, and it seems to speak of inferior buidling quality in cars these days. Perhaps, the fuel tank is not solid enough, but made of thin, cheap, easily buckled material. It was good that these people were rescued before they were engulfed in fire.

Both the driver and passenger who were involved in the auto accident are lucky that Tanner and the deputy were in the area of the accident.
