Dagnabbit, EGGS!

Well, I did make it to Ruler Foods as I mentioned earlier was the plan and got pretty much everything that was on my list. It was a bit frustrating that I did not need potatoes or onions—I have plenty and they're a perishable—because both were on sale for $1.97 for 5 pounds of potatoes and $1.97 for 3 pounds of yellow onions. Oh well, maybe the sale prices will continue until I need either of those two items. But while I was there I wanted to glance at their egg prices. Not that I was expecting a deal worth taking home, but I do need eggs (I have 7 left) and if the price would have been good, I'd have gotten some. But I got sidetracked and forgot to look. I bet they were 99 cents or something and this is just a little irony to throw at me. The one time I don't check is the time the deal of the century just passed me by. Oh well. Can't cry over spilled milk, and what I don't know won't kill me.

You didn't miss the sale of the century on eggs. They're still expensive.

I have found a way to circumvent the high price of eggs altogether....I just tell my daughter to grab a dozen eggs on her way home from work. Let her pay those high prices, not me! LOL

@moffittjc I wouldn't know, and sending the cats out for eggs would be useless. lol

I heard in the news that the egg prices will go down here. But I have not seen it since I still have eggs

@porwest I am happy with the last price I paid for those eggs. If it will go lower, then it will be a bonus

I don't think egg prices are coming down anytime soon here, honestly. Hopefully I am wrong, but it's just been too wild a ride.

As soon as we get home from shopping, I have to start a new list and put on it the stuff I forgot to get.

@JudyEv Unfortunately, yes. lol. Incidentally, I was there again yesterday since we had mom with us and she needed some things. I checked and they were $2.99. Nope. Not going in my cart at that price, and so I left them in the store.

The weird thing is that I specifically didn't put eggs on my list because I was sure I would not forget. Ands then...I forgot. I was even right next to them when I grabbed my butter. lol

I thought of you when I read this article today. The average price of a dozen eggs is almost $5 and in CA they are almost $8. But no worries because Trump is going to magically lower the price of them, right?

No. He is not going to magically lower the price of eggs, or anything else for that matter. He will thoughtfully examine what lead to the inflation in the first place and remove those things to help lower the costs that were added to the costs of our goods and services, such as energy. Keep in mind the last time someone said, "What, does Trump have a magic wand," and laughed. Trump pulled out a magic wand and did exactly what Barack Obama said could not be done.

@porwest The thought that Trump will "thoughtfully examine" anything is hilarious.

@NJChicaa Because you aren't thinking things through. You can't see past your hatred and you have an inability to see the world with clear vision. Based on the disaster Biden left in his wake, if you think for one minute HE was thinking anything through... You're pretty damn blind, and make no mistake about that. If you think that a single coherent thought ever went through Harris' head with all of those scrambled word salads she spit out... It is even clearer you aren't able to see anything at all.

Anytime you buy less of something, 9 times out of 10 it will have a higher unit cost. A half gallon of milk, for example, is ultimately more expensive than a gallon is when you consider the cost per ounce.

Oh well. Better luck next time. Perhaps getting sidetracked meant that there wasn't anything worth the time.

Probably so. Like Valerie said, eggs are still expensive. I am sure the price they wanted for them would have been a price I'd be unwilling to pay.

With an 18 pack of eggs at $7 here, I won't be making egg salad or deviled eggs for a while. Maybe you didn't miss a great sale.

My local Russian store was selling an 18-pack of large white eggs for $11.99. And they weren’t organic or cage free.

The cheapest dozen large brown eggs at my local Russian store were $7.99. Of course, I didn’t buy them. Hubby went to the supermarket and a carton of dozen large brown eggs were $4.49 so he grabbed them. That ain’t cheap but not too bad considering egg prices these days.
