24 January - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from a cold Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It's still cold, but it's getting warmer. My computer temperature is 16 F. That's warmer than it's been in two weeks. The air feels like 1 F, so we are above zero. The forecast also shows snow will start within the hour.
Let me tell you why today has been good and why I'm thankful.
I'm thankful for the time I spent working on Faith to Believe. With my social schedule what it is, I find I can easily work on a book on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. Though tomorrow is iffy as I'm watching Sammy while my friend goes to her sister's funeral. I got three chapters read through and edited. I also got the manuscript in the same font style throughout. I didn't realize the chapter numbers were in three different font styles. I have it worked out through chapter 13 where I will start tomorrow.
I'm thankful for I got my steps today. I've been trying to walk the hallways once an hour for nine hours, the Fitbit goals. I achieved that today. I have over 12K steps on the Fitbit and over 10K steps on the pedometer app and Google Fit.
I'm thankful I made chili today. I have a full crockpot. I made it different than usual. My friend told me I shouldn't put spaghetti sauce or BBQ sauce in my chili. She said she liked it, but it was really different. Okay, so how to make a change to my chili so it will taste good. 1. Buy fresh tomatoes, not sauces or soup. I put four of the eight tomatoes into the food processor and chopped them up. I put the other four tomatoes into the food processor and pureed them. 2. I used light red kidney beans. 3. I browned the meat first and added it to the gluten-free pasta in the crockpot. 4. I poured the gluten-free pasta into the crockpot - first step, without cooking it first. So, the order of ingredients: pasta, kidney beans, meat, chopped tomatoes, pureed tomatoes. Lots of chili pepper, Mrs. Dash garlic and herb, Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime, ground red curry powder, worchestershire sauce. I forgot the onion. I'll put that into it tomorrow. I can say, it actually turned out good. The onion will help it more tomorrow. I used fresh tomatoes to cut down on the sodium.
Okay, that was my day. I got a lot done on my book, for which I'm grateful. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. My living room. I'm still getting used to the new setup.
Update on the alarms. All the fire doors in the building are closed. I found out today that the second alarm that went off yesterday was caused by a burst pipe, which is why the sprinkler system doesn't work. They are working on it. Maintenance drained the sprinkler system today. There was a lot of water in the underground parking garage. Okay, I'll keep you posted about the sprinkler system. Since the sprinkler system is tied to the alarms, without the sprinkler system, the alarms won't go off. I understand someone from maintenance is making a building check throughout the night.
Okay, I'm going to bed. I'm really tired, but I needed to get my phone charged up. It was charging slowly. I finally found a way to speed up the process. I decided to charge up the Fitbit while I was at it.
I will try to be here tomorrow, site allowing. Thanks for reading.

Chili with pasta sounds different. A chili pasta would be very interesting - I'd take out the beans and tomatoes myself. I do use tomato paste and/or sauce when I make it.
Sounds like another full day there, but good to have those things to be thankful for. I am glad it's bedtime for me, I guess lol
