Pre-Birthday Party

Next week Willow and Harper will turn 3 years old.
I really don't know where the time has gone to, they really consume all of our love and attention, and I wouldn't trade these years for love nor money. 
As a family, they are going away for 4 days to Niagara Falls to the Great Wolfe Lodge to celebrate their actual birthday. They will all have so much fun. And I think that it is appropriate that the 4 of them spend this birthday together, as they have had to have so many extra pairs of hands help them since January 29, 2022.
Today we will gather, along with our daughter-in-law's mother and her sister and her family to celebrate the girl's birthday.
Our daughter-in-law was up very early (so not-like her) and began decorating. I think that the dining room looks great. And if I know her, the rest of the main floor will all be done up nicely too. She loves decorating and carrying a theme through the rooms.
What is the extent of your decorating ability?

I know, it is hard to believe that my hubs has been retired for 2 years already.
He still works, watching the girls mind you, but it is working for free and all of the hugs and love he can handle. It is amazing to see how happy he is and what a bond he and the girls share.

Pretty balloons I guess in decorating it kind of depends on what it is .Happy bday to the twins. There is a Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg. It wasn’t. Built when my son was young though

It feel like that for me too.
That was the year, 2 years ago, that my husband retired.
The first few months of his retirement were not easy as he had an hour's commute to get to our son's place everyday. Then they found the place that they have now only 20 minutes away from us. Life has been much better since.

OMG already 3 WOW Willow and Harper are growing like the lovely flowers they are, I hope you had a good celebration, That trip sounds like so much fun, I have never been a good decorated,

@RasmaSandra Yes, the vet feels that they got it all.
She is home today, but on medication and antibiotics. They have to change her dressing daily and she has a special boot to wear. She isn't walking very well.

Wow time does fly by and I can't believe the girls will be celebrating their 3rd birthday. Their trip sounds like fun. Those balloons like pretty.

They are really looking forward to going away together to the Falls.
I think that I've mentioned that our daughter-in-law is a savvy shopper in the past.
She got all of these decorations from a lady in their little area of the city that literally just had a third birthday party for one of her children last Sunday, and was giving the decorations away. Our daughter-in-law finds these kinds of things and moves quickly on them, and she is so sweet, she always gets them.
And you could not tell at all, they looked really great.
The kids had fun, but everyone remarked on the close and interactive bond that they have with Grandpa and I. They did not even want to play with their older cousins, they each came and cuddled with Grandpa and I and when it was supper time they asked each of us to make them a plate and to help them with their ice cream cake. We are so blessed to share such a closeness.

@Juliaacv your daughter in law certainly did good with those decorations. She really is a savvy shopper.
The party sounds like a lot of fun and you are truly blessed to have such closeness with the girls. How lucky for them that grandpa was ready to retire when they needed a babysitter. As hard as it is to believe they are 3 it's harder to believe he's retired for 2 yrs.
These are the best years Julia and I k ow you are treasuring every moment.

Just wait until you get the package that I sent to you, you will quickly learn that I am terrible at wrapping, and my decorating skills are not much better. 
I am so happy that our son and his wife are going to make a special family memory when they go away. I just hope that there isn't any snow storms in the forecast, it can be messy going in that direction. It will be the girl's second time to the falls in their short little lives.

Thanks, I am sure that they will have a great birthday.
I bought them each a Valentines themed sweater to put into their boxes.
It is just a red sweater with a large pink heart which is fuzzy and soft on it.
They can wear that on their birthday and on Valentines day.
I know that my years of being able to buy them clothes that they will wear is limited, so I am trying to get as much in now as I can.
