There is a restaurant in this area called Aqua Blu. I don't think I've ever been there or if I have it was just for a drink. I've definitely never had any food there. It is in a prime location right on the bay but the initial reviews were not good years ago and I've never felt a need to go there. Well now I definitely won't go.
They posted about burger specials yesterday. One was a "legacy burger" named after someone I've never heard of. Fine. It was basically a cheeseburger with BBQ sauce. Whatever. The other one was "The Proud Boys Burger" and the description was: "white American cheese, onion ring layers of truth, resilience pickles, freedom fries, cancel culture cole slaw, liberty sauce". For real.
Well you can imagine how well that went over even in this red county of a blue state. Social media blew up, their Yelp reviews were on fire, and they had to take the post down and issue a pathetic apology saying that they are against hate and it was a mistake that they are "learning" from. Considering the owners were SEEN celebrating the pardons of the January 6 criminals it wasn't a mistake. It was a deliberate choice that they were too stupid to realize could jeopardize their business.
Like I said I've never heard anything good about the place and frankly I'm amazed that it has survived all of these years. Now? I give them 6 months tops. What a foolish move on their part. If you want to be a terrible person in private fine but why put that out there for paying customers to see? It reminds me of a pizza shop that is literally around the corner from here. When the sub shop right across the street was on fire the pizza shop provided a case of water for the firefighters. . . at a 20% discount. What was formerly a very popular and successful pizza place was for sale within months. I expect the same for Aqua Blu. Idiots.

Some people are just eager to get the money and they often don't realize or think about consequences in doing certain things before it is too late,

I honestly do not understand the need to be so hateful. From 47 on down. You know (you probably don’t because you weren’t born or were young ), Ronald Reagan had Democrats tripping over themselves to sign on with him. (In 1984 Walter Mondale won a whopping ONE state in the presidential election: his own home state. (He also won the District of Columbia.) That’s 525-13. THAT is the true definition of a “landslide,” but I digress.) Why? Because he articulated the conservative agenda politely. I seriously doubt 47 has a polite bone in his body. (You and I were taught to say “please” and “thank you,” while he was probably taught to say “gimme.”) So why does celebrating nasty people make someone think they’ll increase business? What’s next, a “unite the right burger,” where everything is piled on the right side of the plate?
(BTW, what did you think of Anders Vistisen‘s remark? In his case, I’ll make an exception, because, as he said, he was using language 47 could understand.)

I do not support the Proud Boys movement and agree, this is bad for business. If they'd have chosen a name like "Patriot Burger," I think they'd have done much better with the idea.
There is nothing dishonorable about being a patriot, of course. And patriot would better define the ingredients.

Unfortunately the word "patriot" has been misappropriated to describe the January 6 rioters. There was nothing patriotic about attacking the US Capitol, attacking police, and searching for Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi with the intent to kill them.

@NJChicaa Give me a break. You are seriously clutching at straws here. Go and read the report. NO DEADLY WEAPONS. It's clear. No matter how badly you want J6 to be your grand I told you so moment, it will never be anything more than your wild imagination and hopes and dreams gone amuck, with nothing to show as proof other than pure fantasy.
