Buffet spread - a memory

The highlight of our package holidays was the buffet spreads that we got at every hotel we were put up at.
Choosing what to eat was pretty time consuming There is just so much one could eat and takig food was not allowed.
I ewnvied those with big appetites. I being a nibbler never did justice to what lay before me
It is years since I have been on any package holiday and nor have I gone to any restaurant to enjoy a buffet meal.

@allknowing That is true since my relatives and myself do not eat at restaurants when the pandemic began.

I haven’t been to a buffet in a good many years. I don’t like the idea of them anymore.

If one wants a quick fix for lunch or dinner Buffet seems to be the choice Nothing like A la carte though

Buffets always seem to be good. I like how they seem to have something for everybody

@allknowing it is the variety of the foods we can find in buffets that really attract us

Buffets have so many food items to choose from. I try to sample small portions of items I know I like and some I think I might enjoy. It's fun trying multiple food items, but as you said, one's stomach can only stretch so much, lol.

I had one buffet breakfast in the best hotel in my place.but it was disgusting. I used to have buffet in big hotels in the capital city and it was very satisfying. I wanted a sunny side up egg but they only have scrambled egg, no sausages and ham considering it is a breakfast buffet. Fruits are not refilled, looks like a first come first served policy.

The last time I went to Aruba (with my grandson) I invited him to the restaurant by the pool on the day when they had the "all you can eat" pork ribs. He was happy and I was happy watching him eat. I could only eat 3 small ribs but I stopped counting how many ribs he ate. Years ago I could eat a lot of ribs. I love them. I still do but 3 is my limit now.
