Lunch Must Have Had Too Much Value

Sometimes you have a lunch that just, for whatever reason, sticks with you much longer than you might otherwise expect. Like our lunch yesterday. We went to a local gyro place we love, just a married couple who run the place and work tirelessly on their own to run the entire operation, called Lilly's.
I had a lamb gyro with everything on it, and the wifey had a chicken one. They came with a heap of fries and a soda. They're a bit pricey at a bit over $11 for the combo, but well worth it.
By the time dinner rolled around we were both still somewhat satisfied, so the decision was made to have a simple dinner night, so we just made ham and Swiss sandwiches on toasted bread and had macaroni and cheese on the side.
Do you ever eat a lunch that just sticks with you?

@porwest I'm on THIS planet and in reality. Yeah I remember when eggs were cheap. I remember when gas was 75 cents a gallon. That isn't reality today. I can't speak to McDonalds prices because I don't eat that trash. And I think it was Trump's new finance guy who said that we should just "deal with" inflation due to his stupid tariffs.

The same lunch special was $8 when Trump was in office the first time. I base a price based on what it should be. Not the prices Biden's disastrous economic policies created for us to just "deal with" and "accept."
I remember when eggs were under $1 a dozen. When gas for my car was $2.49. When I could go to McDonald's for lunch easily on $10. What planet are YOU on?

Not sure but lots of pasta or a huge sandwich would definitely do it.

@porwest rice can be pretty filling for sure. Don’t like buffets. You leave there feeling heavy and you can’t breathe lol.

@porwest Well, when I have lunch at the Centre, I usually don't have dinner, but not because lunch was so great, just that it was more than I usually eat at lunch at home (if I even have lunch at home).

@BarBaraPrz Most of the time a lunch won't sit so long with me. But certain types of foods certainly do, for whatever reason.

I haven’t had a gyro in a long time. I would definitely go with the lamb.

Lunch here is called dinner and that's our main meal, usually around 2pm. We have a good breakfast, then a main meal later, then a smaller snack or sandwich around 7.
Your lunch was delicious, sounds like.

@andriaperry lol. I can FULLY relate to that. Even though I am not a napper. But sometimes naps happen by accident.

Yes, usually it is homemade, though. I seldom find anything that is under $11 for a combo meal out to eat.

That happened to me the other night when my daughter and I went out to lunch at a wing place. Later that night, at dinner time, we both were still so full that we didn’t want to eat. My poor girlfriend had to make food just for herself.

$11 is cheap for a combo these days. Especially for something like a gyro.

No but I can relate to you that the food is much getting higher in proces. It looks the same here like groceries.
