Finally, I took pictures of my stray dog

She is a beauty....shy one...she wouldn't allow me to click her...oh no... Hide her face here, hide her face there, curl up, get irritated and run to another place, believe me, I ran behind her five times... Then finally, she resigned to her fate...and let me click her....and even showed me her belly.... I don't know if I should feel sorry for frustrating her that much, but the photos really made my day. I really really wish, I can adopt her. Hope god gives me some solution. Here is the picture I took of her yesterday. Her hind ...somebody hit her with a stone or something, it has healed some, but the scar is there...so I have not given the complete picture... But she is a gorgeous glamorous beauty queen of stray dogs world....at least, according to me...

Why is is that you can´t adopt it if she is a stray dog? In my country if there is a stray dog in the street and it wants to come to your house, you just ask it to come in and feed it and pet it. And it is yours. Then you take it to a vet so that the vet checks it and gives it all the shots it needs. All my sister´s dogs have been stray dogs to begin with. Luna was bought though. And although she is not Royal, she looks like a 100% German shepherd.

I live in an apartment. Here the apartment owners do not allow stray dogs in. Strictly no. They have grills to prevent strays going out in the night which means she cannot go for peeing in the night, if she needs to...and they mostly fear others being bitten. Dad ...may have issues with hair shedding. He is basically bronchitis patient. And right now, he is sickly too...

@vandana7 It seems that you will have to find her another home.

@marguicha India has too many stray dogs, and nobody willing to take them in. :( She is not the only one I feed. I would love to bring her in. But building secretary has told me no thrice. I cannot defy them. It would be like I alone versus 13 other flat owners. I need help for Dad, and that will not be there if it comes to that. Moreover, they can trouble me other ways. So it is best to follow the rules I feel.

I'm not much for dogs, but she looks like she's pleading "Don't hit me with that thing"... Is she missing some fur on her elbow?

Yes, some itch...or something...she won't allow us to use any spray...finally, I am forced to use benadryl, god knows this is not the way I want to help her out. Taking her to vet....not easy...she won't get into the car...I will have to sedate her someday for vaccinations. That elbow thing can also be because she is constantly seated....at least, whenever I see her...she is well over 9 years I think. Somebody hit her ...so she tends to sit more. She only runs some with me... Yeah...but her eyes are gorgeous...aren't they...dark and large.. doe like...

@vandana7 I´d take her to a vet if she is a stray dog. I´m sure that the vet will check the elbow.

@marguicha How? She just refuses to get into the car, and runs away ...how am I to run in the traffic behind her... I plan to sedate her, and load her...after April....till then I have plenty lined up. And I will also get help from others then...carrying her and all that...LOL

If I could keep her, I would....I really don't know how people can sleep after deserting a beauty like her.... she is not even ugly except where people have hit her hard....poor sweetie...as to exporting her, Mr. Donald Trump would not like illegal or legal immigrants like her. LOL

I am crossing my fingers....someday...after May ...maybe....but with Dad in his present condition, I am day dreaming.... She is glamorous, isn't she? I remembered that song Endless Love..."And your eyes, they tell me how much you care, oh yes, you will always be...my...endless love...".... She is more than her looks...first wags her tail furiously when she spots me, gets something to eat, and then spends so much time playing with me............running here and there......she knows I like her...very much..LOL When I start leaving, she has such a sad look...at times, she tries to follow me...at other times, she stays back...resigned to her fate. Both situations hurt.

@much2say Yes. Roxy ...which gets twisted to Rakshasi...(means something like an ogre or something...LOL)...here, we use nasty names for loved ones...god knows why...but it comes naturally. I think she is somewhat accepting the arrangement. She seems to have realized it cannot progress beyond this. I try my best to visit her at least once a day. But sometimes it simply is not possible. I have deliberately not adhered to fixed timings. You see, if I feed her at fixed hour, she is likely to get habituated to it, and then, if I leave, she will not be able to fend for herself. She is, as you can see, pretty old...maybe 8 or 9 years old. She must already be having problems in getting food when younger dogs are scavenging. So....I give her enough, no doubt, but keep that margin so that when I go to assisted living she does not have to restart her life.

@vandana7 Do you have a name for her ? But I know, I know, once you attach a name, it becomes a serious relationship. I just wish it was more than "stray dog" - she really does seem to love you a lot. And for sure we know you simply adore this sweet dog. Glamorous indeed . It is a huge responsibility to care for a parent - and a pet that needs a lot of attention too. I am glad that there is at least this arrangement that you get to see this precious dog . . . do you visit her everyday? I know that song well - I sing that for karaoke at times .

She has a record of over 8 years of not biting anybody. As a pup of about 6 months or so, somebody took her in, and then left her on streets after another six months or so. This means, she does not trust humans. But me...for some reason, she likes. Just pictures....

@vandana7 i wish she could tell you that as well. by looking at you, i think, i might be wrong. i feel she's comfortable around you and that look, like you mean a lot to her. birds of the same feather, that could be a factor as well
