The ego, life, and love

We should not try to destroy our ego, but to work with it.
Our ego is a part of who we are. Our total person includes our ego.
We need to connect our ego to our soul, rather than to our mind, and so instead of trying to work alone, controlling our mind, our ego will then become a refined tool for our soul to use, as well, as our mind, which it should control our use of too.
Make your ego a true ego, and do not allow it to remain a false ego, living only for itself.
The egoic mind creates suffering, and pain, as it works from a level that has been described as an insanity, compared to the egoic soul, which works with a higher aware, conscious, mind, instead.
“Love, and ego, can never exist together, just as the Sun, and shadow, cannot.”
The spiritual writer, and mystic, Banani Ray, said this in her book, "Gautama."
She has it all wrong, though, as the ego and love must exist together for our life to work optimally, but our ego has to be aligned to our soul self, and not be allowed to control us, by its usurping our mind, for its own purposes.
We should only follow our soul purposes for our life.

Do not let your ego block you on your true path. Allow you ego to help you to move along this true path, not block it off.

Ego has a negative tone generally, but our ego can spur us to reach greater heights of wisdom and achievement.
For that we have to veer ego towards positive and loving deeds that benefit society.
We need to be ever on guard not to let our ego lead us towards greed, pride, and selfishness.

Yes, that is the point that I was trying to bring out.
Our ego, as well as all of our other parts, can serve us, instead of working against us.
We need to monitor our ego, our heart, our mind, our thoughts, our emotions, as any of these parts of us can carry us along through life in their own way, and so move us away from our true life path, if not carefully used. We should not be careless/whimsical in the use of any part of ourselves.

@innertalks They are all there for a reason and then it is up to us to find harmony by judicious use of them.
Ignoring the God given awareness attained through making all play its part will only deprive us to lead a fulfilling life.

@Shiva49 Yes, we should not cut off our big toe to spite our foot, so to speak.
