Tax time!

I finally got them done and submitted today. I try to get them done as early as I can,but I was waiting for some information from some of the people I freelance for in order to get them filed. Decent little tax return this year. Thank the lord! Lol. We need stuff for the house, clothes, etc. I've always tried to do them as early as I can in the year, and I have ALWAYS filed online. It's easier. I paid an extra $25 to get it five days early. It comes out of the refund, and if it doesn't come five days early- I get the money refunded and back in my refund. So we will see. What about you? Are you a do it yourself and mail it in? Or a do it online type of person?

Doing stuff online isn't always as easy as it's meant to be unfortunately.

I have my accountant take care of everything for me. I am always waiting on stock tax stuff. But it will get done soon enough.

@porwest Ah. Is me starting to invest in stocks going to make my taxes way more complicated?

@thislittlepennyearns My taxes can be complicated. It's just easier for him to do it. Let him take the time for a few hundred dollars and I will go off and make more money with the time I save. lol

I do it myself online, so I'll get that done soon. I get a state refund, but I use it to pay off my federal (I'm self-employed, so I have to pay).

@thislittlepennyearns I'm solely self-employed/freelance, so I need to pay. Fortunately, my state refund is enough to cover it, so it's one less thing to stress over. I just need to remember to file them soon. I'll have $4 leftover from the state, but I'm using that towards another expense because every penny counts. Oooh, I had no idea that not all states do refunds.

I am self employed but didn't owe anything this year. We don't have state taxes here.

@tammys85 Ooof. That's rough but at least it was enough. It might be different because we have two kids to claim.

We have a tax person do ours because of the stock dividends which is hard to figure out.
