I finally finished Anna Karenina, which I started reading January 2nd. Now it’s time to move on to much shorter books.
I went to the library today to return the book and pick up new books to read. This library is small compared to my usual branch and the other not far from me, both of which are temporarily closed. But at least it’s easy to get to.
I took out five poetry books, a Tucker Carlson biography, and a memoir. I’ve got three weeks to read them all. I think it’s doable.

@lovebuglena It will probably be a Jojo Moyes one. Or maybe Jodi Picoult.

I couldn’t wait to finish it. It was taking too long. I wonder if it was the norm back then to write such lengthy books.

@AmbiePam I was at the library recently and saw Les Miserableson the shelf. That one is probably way bigger than Anna Karenina.

@lovebuglena ......That era was when writers were very boring I thought. They did a lot more description and such than they really needed to.

@celticeagle gotta be a very dedicated reader to finish books that long. And I bet it isn’t easy to write a book that long either. Gotta be persistent.

I enjoyed it, though it was too long. Wonder if it was really necessary to have it so long.
