So, some exciting news last night. My nephew has a wedding date picked out. It is in September of 2026. Still quite a ways away, but I sure hope I will be able to attend. I asked sis if I was on the guest list, and she said she assumed so but she didn't know really who all would be attending. I told her to pass along to Andrew I would really love to attend. Actually, I would be broken hearted if I didn't get to. I might say something along those lines..at some point too. They are having like 60 or so guests..and it would be super to be able to go to Chicago for the wedding. It will give me something to look forward to. Plus I haven't been to a wedding in ages. The last one was my cousin's and his kids are teenagers now. When was the last time you attended a wedding?

Oh, that IS exciting! I hope you get to go. The last wedding I attended? Oh, it’s been a long time. I have a huge family so I get invited to one a year maybe, but I never go. Some might assume the last wedding I attended was my dad’s and his wife, but their wedding was at her late parent’s home with just the preacher and her parents to see it. No one else was invited, not her kids either.

Why wouldn't you go? Weddings are really fun. I would be thrilled to go to one a year.

@snowy22315 I don’t know the young ones getting married at all. Like at all. And all the weddings are like three hours away, and I can’t be at a church for three or four hours without needing to lay down. It gets to be stressful. If it were a wedding nearby I’d honestly love to go.

@AmbiePam Maybe there will be one someday.. Question though, most weddings don't take more than 45 minutes..Why would you have to be a church 3 or 4 hours? It's nice of them to invite you even if you don''t know them.

If an Aunt is not included then I wonder who would be in that list of 60

@allknowing They can do whatever they want. It's their wedding.. I am not too worried about it though. If they know I want to come, I doubt seriously they would say no.

Your nephews wedding would certainly be something to look forward to especially if you get to go to Chicago. 2026 will be here before we know it.
I haven't been to a wedding in ages but my oldest grandson is getting married in May and I'm really looking forward to going.

That’s such exciting news! A wedding in Chicago in September 2026 sounds like a fantastic event to look forward to. Even though it’s still a while away, it’s great that you’re already so excited about it—it’s clear how much it means to you to be there. I hope you get to attend and celebrate with your family; it sounds like it’ll be a memorable occasion!
I totally get what you mean about not having been to a wedding in a while. The last wedding I attended was a few years ago, and it’s always such a special experience—seeing loved ones come together, celebrating love, and of course, the food and dancing! ?? It’s been way too long since I’ve had a reason to dress up and enjoy that kind of celebration.
Here’s hoping your niece’s wedding is everything you’re dreaming of and more! And who knows, maybe it’ll inspire you to start planning something similar in the future. ?? Do you have any fun memories from the last wedding you attended?
