Chinese New Year!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a pure Filipino, but we celebrate Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year. We eat tikoi/tikoy, Hopia (Mooncake Filipino version), and the elderlies would give out ampaos (red envelope with money inside). This has been a tradition ever since, maybe it's because my family is a huge believer of feng shui (Chinese geomancy), and we also have friends who are Chinese, so that's why it became a custom to celebrate it. And the school I'm working at has Chinese students, so that's why we don't conduct classes every Chinese New Year. Happy Chinese New Year!

well, it is now a legal holiday here in our country. We have a lot of Filipino-Chinese and pure Chinese here and of course we are influenced by them as well Happy New Year!

I have nothing against celebrating the Chinese New Year in fact, it is holiday in our country so it's part of our culture. I even bought a cake from SM Supermarket for the Chinese New Year. Enjoy.
