You finally make it. You open your own business and your father says to you, "It's too bad you couldn't get a real job." How would that make you feel?

Like he has no idea how difficult it is to be an entrepreneur! We got the same comment and this life is too short to be working for someone else and never reaping the benefit. So too bad for them if they don't have the guts to try something out-of-the-box.

It would suck. Because you would put alot of hard work into it and I would want him to be proud of me for that. Not to say a comment to me like that. I would tell him that it hurt my feelings because i am proud of my accomplishments and he should be too

Do you like your job? Does it pay emotionally? Is work emotionally satisfying? Does it feel rewarding?
Then your father's opinion shouldn't count. Who cares what he thinks. You enjoy your new business and dismiss your father's opinion. It isn't worth investing your emotional time.
