So, some guy on FB asked to be my friend. I looked at his profile and then accepted him. He felt fishy, but maybe not...
Naturally he then texted me. Wanted to get off Messenger because his job didn't want them on it. Tried to get me to Telegram, told him I didn't have. I do, but I have no desire to 'chat' on the phone. Finally went to Google Chat.
We chatted a bit and then asked if I were married or single. Then this discussion happened.
no, just my wife and even that was pretty unromantic
she wanted to be sure she had a place to live and wanted to get wills, so we got married
she was 7 years younger
What do you mean your wife are you not a woman?
And he's like well, you are going to find someone and get all the romance you need.
I'm sorry, dude, if I wanted a husband I'd'a gotten one back when I was young and pretty - I got asked. He told me that a good God-fearing man would change my mind.
So, all of that was on Friday. Then has been chatting with me.
And today he springs the money request. No, just no. I guess he's given up. Nothing since I said 'no,' twice.
Crazy people. I did tell him that I had been waiting for him to ask, and I thought he was a Romeo scammer.
How about you guys? anything on y'all's end?

If I had more going on I probably would've just refused to interact with him. As it was, I did tell him I thought he was a scammer right up front. Then he didn't react well because I told him I had been married to a woman. I finally threw a lot of stuff at him. Like, why was he upset about being married to a woman? How he didn't know it was legal? (I am a very private person.) It has been legal since 2016, what, you don't watch the news? read a newspaper? Oh, and he has now disappeared... coward!

I really only talk with friends here on myLot and I have to know them and talk with them a lot before I consider them friends. Even knowing people here as much as I do, I'd never ask them for money...
I did have one woman here ask for my Fb account name... I told her I didn't have one. She wanted me to make one so we could talk "privately". I told her we could chat in the pms here but she didn't want to stay on myLot to chat with me. I told her no. I found out why she didn't want to stay on myLot to chat with me. She wanted money and myLot will ban someone for asking for money here, even in the pms.
I was surprised so many people on myLot have given her money... I'm glad you didn't give any to that leech!

@ElicBxn I believe you. Scammers have no shame, though. They'll take money even if a baby has to starve if they take it. They just don't care.

I have to say he was persistent. I guess he figured if I responded at all, he might have a real one. Like I said, however, I was already considering him a scammer and he hadn't asked anything. Oh, and he is gone, no sign of him anywhere. Good riddance. I hope he spent enough time on me he missed someone more susceptible...

I didn't used to, but since I know am stuck managing a couple of Viv's FB groups I do, if they don't 100% look like a scammer. You know, only picture on their page is the one they use as an avatar. They list nothing in their "about" section. So, this guy had more than one picture, info in his about section and once he started scamming he really stuck to his info. But you know the dude isn't a native speaker when they make major mistakes AND they don't know that gay marriages have been legal for about 9 years... Pretty big tells of a scammer.

Facebook Messenger is one of the worst things I’ve ever encountered in my whole life.
