The Unfair Treatment of Wynne Evans by the Press.

You all know how much I like Wynne Evans, so this makes me very sad. As I understand it, this happened at the launch of Strictly, which was a couple of weeks ago, so why it should come out this late is beyond me. Apparently, Wynne and his mate Jamie from EastEnders were either side of Jeanette from Strictly. Wynne said to Jamie, It's like we're in a spit roast with her. Wynne was just joking around and he didn't mean anything by it. Neither Jeanette nor anyone else was upset or offended by it. But apparently a journalist from the Mail filmed it on her phone without anyone knowing and reported it. Wynne has apologised and stepped down from his radio show and the Strictly tour for the time being to concentrate on his wellbeing. His brother, Mark Llewelyn Evans, had this to say on Facebook:- "As Wynne's brother, I want to express my unwavering support for him during this challenging time. Wynne has a heart of gold and the courage of a lion, paired with a talent that outshines most. His charisma and humour have brought joy to countless people, and his ability to uplift others through his performances is nothing short of extraordinary. While Wynne's comments may have been misjudged, they came from a place of humour - a humour that sometimes leans into clownishness but has always been his way of connecting with the world. We live in a world where sensitivity is heightened, and it is heartbreaking that such talent can be so quickly scrutinised. Why was he recorded? Why does a single moment have the power to overshadow years of dedication and joy he has brought to so many? It is deeply troubling that such a wonderful person, who lifts spirits through his work, is being targeted in this way. We, as his family, have recently endured the loss of our elder brother to cancer - a devastating time for all of us. Wynne's heart is heavy, and he needs protection and understanding, not condemnation. The BBC has long been a champion of talent, celebrating those who inspire and bring joy to audiences. I urge you to stand by Wynne, to see his warmth, humanity and extraordinary talent for what it is. Do not let a single moment define him. Instead, let his contributions, his dedication, and the smiles he creates stand as a testament to who he is. Wynne deserves to shine again, for his gift to the world is too bright to be dimmed. On behalf of our family, I ask for your support to help him weather this storm and return to what he does best: lifting hearts and spirits. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please, let compassion and fairness prevail. - Mark." If you want to support Wynne can you please sign the petition started by his brother Mark Llewelyn Evans calling for the fair treatment of Wynne Evans by the press. Thank you very much.

These reporters are always looking for ways to make friction and cause a upset for the tabloids. It makes money for them.

Yes, that is unfortunately true, and it's very sad. It must be stopped.

Thank you very much, that's very kind of you. What he said was just a joke, and he didn't mean anything by it, but the press have blown it up out of all proportion. He's such a nice guy and I worry about him. He has made no secret of the fact that he struggles with his mental health, and this can't be helping. I just hope he's OK.

No doubt many many people have made off-colour jokes but before now they generally slipped past unnoticed. Nowadays of course everything is scrutinised, and the BBC in particular is being very cautious because it was lambasted for turning a blind eye to far worse behaviour before.

Yes, that's right. Just because he was recorded saying one misjudged jokey comment he gets blasted for it. It was just one joke and he doesn't deserve this treatment. I can't wait till he returns to BBC Radio Wales. I watched his show Wynne and Joanna: All at Sea on Monday night again. It was wonderful. They were playing crazy golf and his little dog Ginny grabbed the golf ball just before it went in the hole. It was hilarious!

That's very, very sad. People are so quick to judge others nowadays.

Yes, it is. You are right they are. Wynne is always joking around and those who know him know that he'd never intentionally hurt anyone with his words.
