Jefferson County Animal Control named McMillen answered an emergency call from a concerned citizen about a coyote that was caught on a barbed wire fence on Monday January 20.
Officer McMullen risked his life to free the coyote despite the amount of snow on the ground and snow piled up to the knees of the officer by giving the coyote a warm blanket while the officer cut through the wire fence to free the coyote.
The coyote did walk away from the wire fence trap with a sore paw and a few scrapes on his body.

I know what you mean even though I do not like coyotes that much beside the cartoon character version,

@celticeagle It was very painful since barbed wire traps are not for the faint of heart.

Its another coyote again, are they living in the wild?
I hope he gets better and someone will find and treat his wounds. This is very sad, I hope someone can really help that poor animals. Are they life threatening to people? do they bite?

Coyotes do bite someone who dares to upset them in self defense. My knowledge of coyotes is that they live in the desert areas.

The officer had a hard time trying to ger the coyote free due to the amount of snow in the area.

It was good that it was rescued, as it does not look like that it could have ever freed itself.

I am in agreement with you that the coyote would not have been able to get free from the fence by himself.
