A book returned to a library in Connecticut 56 years later

Book written by Ernest Hemingway returned after 56 years apart in Connecticut.

A customer who checked out a book from the Greenwich Public Library in Connecticut in 1969 was returned to the same library around Thursday January 16. The name of the book is called The Sun Also Rises that was written by Ernest Heminway was returned to the library with a note saying that the former patron who moved from Greenwich to upstate New York in 1980. The patron who did not get out his or her name sent a check to the library to cover the cost of the overdue book even though the library in Greenwich dropped their fines of overdue book. The patron admitted that he or she found the book in a pile of boxes inside of his or her home before returning the book. Link is upi.com/8731737738909 via @upi

Wow, that is impressive a book returned after 56 years, Maybe the borrower are no longer alive. That book is also priceless. I want to download that book.It seems that library has a good reputation. It exists for many years.

@Deepizzaguy , yeah, unless they borrowed the book when they were teens most likely, they are still alive but transferred to another place.

That was good of them to send a cheque. Most people just return books without sending any money.

That is true that the majority of overdue books that are returned to the library either do not have a sorry note or a check to cover the expenses.

That is good question how much money the patron paid for the late fees which I am sure was around either $100 dollars or more.

@Deepizzaguy Oh yes, one of my friends did not return a book that does not look expensive but it was a book about her favourite boyband so she kept it.
