Have You Ever Been Ghosted?

I value friendships very highly. I don't call just anyone my friend. I don't jump into friendships. I take it slow and see what type of person I am dealing with. I don't share a lot. I do post a lot of my personal life on Mylot but not because I am that way usually but, more because I have no one else to chat with. And, the mere fact that I have nothing to hide or feel badly about. My kids--sure I'm very close with them but, how can I rant to them about them? Right?
My BFF was a dear lady and more like a sister to me, in fact her and her family treated me as a part of their family. She died suddenly of a heart attack back in December of 2021. I miss her all of the time. She had a great sense of humor and she shared my love for writing. She was a big fan of Star Wars and I of Star Trek but we made it work. I used to have another friend but she accused me of stealing from her when I came to stay back in 2010. I was so shocked and humiliated. I would never steal especially not from a good friend. She came off my short list of friends immediately.
So, now I have no one. Oh, there are a few on here that I think of as friends although I don't know what they think about it. You know how that goes. Then there was one I sure miss. Oreo Cookies. She was a sweetheart. She passed too. This other friend I thought I had on here just out of nowhere ghosted me. I had been very depressed for a period of time and hadn't even gone online. When I came back to the living and reached out to her she wouldn't return my emails and just quit the friendship. I was hurt. She knew the backstory pretty much in its entirety. She ghosted me. But such is life I guess.
I wish I had a good friend like my BFF. I think my depression would be better if I had someone to talk to, hang out with, and laugh with. I think laughter between people is very important. But the humor has to be the same or it doesn't work at all.
Have you ever been ghosted by someone you thought was your friend?

Yes, and it's very hurtful. People should just be honest.

I have heard it said that a good listening friendship is just as effective as anti depressants for some people. I knew Oreo, was not sure if she had passed or not. I am sorry about the other friend that seems to have abandoned ship.

Well, something could've happened to the friend. And, you just don't know. Try looking her up online before you say she ghosted you.

Yes and I never ever thought he'd do that. We'd been friends through thick and thin. Then he just never showed up after telling me he'd be here one day this past Summer. He hasn't bothered returning texts or calls. I don't know what happened.

I used to have friends that ghosted.
I used to be very upset about it. Now I do not care about it anymore. If you ghosted me once, I will not accept you back into my life anymore.

Poor Oreo, yes RIP she was a good decent lady.

A true friend is someone who is honest with you. I hope you can find a true friend again.
