As many of you know Nico has an unfortunate habit of chewing on fabric, when he is A. hungry, B. bored, or C. looking for nurturance or some combination of all of them. I will invariably guess wrong. Anyway, when he chews a hole it something we refer to the garment or blanket or whatever as being "Nicoed." He chewed on one of my favorite shirts which kind of looks like a thin thermal shirt, but it has a beautiful design on it. There is a large hole in it, maybe two. However, I love the shirt, and can't bear to throw it away. I think I am going to make it into a sleeveless garment. I will feel happy if I can still wear it. Have you ever modified a garment that was stained, had a hole in or otherwise ruined for conventional wear?

It wouldn't look right. I am no seamstress. Besides I don't have any extra material.

When I was a teen, we had a Norwegian Elkhound puppy - oh my gosh he loved to bite my favorite green hoodie jacket that I always wore. The thing had holes - especially in the sleeves. My mom always told me to throw it out, but I kept that hoodie jacket for years . . . never modified it - wore it with those forever holes .

That sounds like a good way to save your shirt that has been Nicoed!

Yeah, I thought maybe I could do short sleeves, but one of the holes is up near the shoulder.

Yes, I've embroidered a design over small holes. I hate throwing out a garment I love.
