As many of you know Nico has an unfortunate habit of chewing on fabric, when he is A. hungry, B. bored, or C. looking for nurturance or some combination of all of them. I will invariably guess wrong. Anyway, when he chews a hole it something we refer to the garment or blanket or whatever as being "Nicoed." He chewed on one of my favorite shirts which kind of looks like a thin thermal shirt, but it has a beautiful design on it. There is a large hole in it, maybe two. However, I love the shirt, and can't bear to throw it away. I think I am going to make it into a sleeveless garment. I will feel happy if I can still wear it. Have you ever modified a garment that was stained, had a hole in or otherwise ruined for conventional wear?

It wouldn't look right. I am no seamstress. Besides I don't have any extra material.

I think that’s a great idea.
I did have a pair of jeans years ago that were so nice and comfy. I had them so long they started to get holes. Luckily, the weird trend of ripped jeans came about, and I continued to wear them even a few years after that. Then another time my jeans got ripped, and I made them into cut off shorts.

When I was a teen, we had a Norwegian Elkhound puppy - oh my gosh he loved to bite my favorite green hoodie jacket that I always wore. The thing had holes - especially in the sleeves. My mom always told me to throw it out, but I kept that hoodie jacket for years . . . never modified it - wore it with those forever holes
.

@snowy22315 Oh man, and with shoes you really can't do anything to fix that.

These aren't small holes. It is still gonna be just a shirt for around the house I think or at best to do walking in.

My mother added a patch onto a pair of leggings I was going to throw away. Now they're too large so I might throw them away anyway. Patch aside, they're also quite worn. I had them for years, a long time for a pair of cheap leggings.

That sounds like a good way to save your shirt that has been Nicoed!

Yeah, I thought maybe I could do short sleeves, but one of the holes is up near the shoulder.

My great-aunt gave me some wild polka dotted pants a few years ago. I discovered a hole in the pants so I asked her to fixed them for me. She did.
