The silent dare..........

It happens at micro level as well as macro level. The unpleasant behavior of somebody putting us in awkward spot...knowing that we are hurt or uncomfortable. It confuses ...to what level should I react. Any reaction, will it show me in bad light, because this behavior is often done skillfully....I react. I don't give a damn what another person thinks. I am not comfortable, its my space. Others have no right to decide how I should feel about what I am not comfortable with. So yeah...I am bad. At macro level, I think everybody is aware...In India there is reservation factor...religion factor...elsewhere it is racial factor... There are times when I do not know how to react, because however I do, there is not going to be a positive outcome. So yeah...right now there is a lot of noise on the street. Somebody is getting married. Good...god bless. But ...why must I have to put up with a lot of noise for that...drums beating incessantly without any musical quality. It started in the morning with what we call Shehnai...but those instruments not tuned, poorly made...and badly aping film music. Even if I were to complain to authorities, no action will be taken because it is "custom". Then too, votes are important. Those against whom we will be complaining will come rushing in to say Hinduphobia...really?

With the people in power, pushing their brand day and night in the media, kumbh coverage geared to getting victory in elections , breaking places of worship belonging to other faiths , everything of it is giving rise to an atmosphere of hindupbobia.

Breaking places of worship belonging to other faiths is wrong. Only an uneducated mind without adequate thinking capacity would be capable of such an act.

We often have to put up with things we don't like just because... If it was you or your family/church making the noise, would you tell them to stop because someone else might not like hearing it? This is probably not what you want to hear from me and I'm sorry. This is what I think when others make noise around me. I prefer no noise at all. Quiet is bliss. And yet, others sing or listen to music and I have to close my ears to it.

I would not make that noise first and foremost. I would not attend such stuff. My kids, go to registration office, register your marriage...come home, take the check from me for whatever you might have spent on the so called stupid celebrations put it in banks or stocks...finish the chore...I am so pragmatic. I like music...yes....issue is.........................................it is not noisy. There is difference.

You're dealing with the discomfort of others' behavior both personally and socially. It's frustrating when people disregard your feelings or when cultural customs create noise. Navigating reactions can be tough, especially when complaints seem ineffective. Your feelings are valid, and it's important to prioritize your comfort.

It helps to be told I am not the only one feeling this, and not wrong in reacting to it. :)

I hate excessive noise, but it is everywhere unless I move somewhere rural and well, that's not happening. Lol!
