Retirement Blues

My mother used to say before her retirement from tea plantations job, " When I retire, I will visit my native village often , spend time with my relatives and friends, catch fish in the river, gossip sitting under the tamarind tree." I don't remember doing all that after her retirement .
Recently, two of my friends retired from their job in the Indian Railways. They earned enough and have a house and a car of their own. They have all the time on earth in their hands. They do the household work as much as they can. But they tell me time doesn't pass. They find themselves bored!
Soon , I will be retired too. But I am an employee of a children's home. I don't earn much. I am a simple worker in an orphanage. I have no savings. I'll have to find work somewhere for survival! But will I have strength enough to do any work!
So many years I took care of orphaned children. In a few days perhaps I'll have to live on charity myself .

Actually, in today's era, if you are smart enough to know your way out, you can earn even post-retirement...let me give you an idea, you might want to do some kind of exotic vegetable plantation (if you have farm land) & for this you need to be a supervisor & keep few people to do actual work for you

I truly hope you'll find some profitable and fulfilling work to do. It's a great pity that people who do such wonderful work as you and your wife do are so badly paid.
