I put this classic no where near the top of the ten as I feel it's more pastiche of what Italian mobsters are like from the old country than reality. Oscar winning Marlon Brando was so narked he had to audition for the film he didn't take the casting too seriously, stuffing cotton wool in his mouth and wearing his wedding suit.to perform the famously mumbling 'Don' Vito Corleone, in front of Francis Ford-Coppola. The kissing the hand mob boss always feesl cliche and no doubt this movie where the cliche was born from although as a child of the 1970s I didn't see thus until the late 80s.
Its based on Mario Puzo's award winning book and evolved into the most famous trilogy of films to ever be made, each movie getting better and better as AL Pacino's character evolved likewise. The music is iconic as the look and will remain the greatest mafia film ever made to many although not to me. Its good but not great.

That was a good one. I read the book in 8th grade. I am sure my parents wouldn't have approved if they knew I was reading it

You know I have never seen the movie and have no interest in seeing it, Maybe I will change my mind out of interest sometime in the future,

I remember seeing the first movie in the theater in Balboa Panama with my late parents since I was not of age in 1972 to see R rated movies without being accompanied by an adult.
