I just listened to a video made by a doctor who specializes in Dementia. He brought up some facts.I wanted to share:
* Dementia is not always hereditary.
* 46 million Americans suffer from it or some form of brain dysfunction.
* Plaque builds in areas of the brain, and cells die causing issues with speech, memory problems, attention issues, and wakefulness or problems sleeping. Neurotransmitters in the brain must have the right nutrients to do their jobs.
* Dementia can be reversed.
* Drugs for dementia have terrible side effects such as sleep paralysis, worsening of depression or suicidal thoughts, and compromised respiratory function.
* Music can improve a patient's mood bring on memories and release dopamine, which can help reduce age-related cognitive decline.
* Although there is a lack of evidence that Coconut oil can affect the symptoms of dementia in some cases it has shone to improve them.
* Magnesium is a major mineral that helps with dementia. Also, zinc and iron.
* Other helpful nutrients are fish oil, ginkgo biloba, Ginseng, selenium, choline, Vitamin C, D, and E, and especially vitamin B12.
* Low-fat diets are not good for those suffering from dementia.
The picture is from my collection.

Thanks. I enjoy collecting them.
Just like so many other afflictions, if it is caught early a lot can be done.
