I called the insurance company that handles the Medicade that they put me on back in September that I didn’t even know about until January 14th. I was calling them to ask them where my card was. I was told that it was sent to me on the 18th of January to………. and they said my address that I lived at almost 3 years ago in a DIFFERENT COUNTY!!!!!!

That's happened to me before. Some places still have old addresses that I haven't lived in before. It's funny, sometimes.

I have never had that happen before! Not for this long of time anyway. And the caseworker and Appeals person have been for months telling me that I am receiving other benefits that I never got or even asked for! Also saying I don’t qualify for medicaid when I already had it!

@dfollin It does happen more often then you would think. Often times they look at the name and don't think beyound that. I have had my social security cut to pay back a debt my late mother owed, because social security got us mixed up.

It has happened to me when some of my mail was sent to wrong address even though I did send information to inform the persons about my move to another address.

I hope you everything is fix now. its really hard when they always got the wrong address its really hard. I have same scenario on gettingmy ID, I am waiting for my National ID coz all of my family had it and almost delivered the same month and mine has not been delivered, I waited for one year and I finally just went to the post office and asked about it, and the thing is they got the wrong address! Fortunately I have it now.

Oh no, are you able to supply them with proof that you actually live in the same county as now?

Oh they know! The man from the appeals office is from the state and he took the caseworker’s side.

@dfollin It seems to be really complicated in how government dispense medical aids. In my country, it is very much simpler. As long as you are a citizen with a valid identification card number, they will waive a part of your bill if you visit the government hospital under subsidies route. If you need more help, you can get it through medical social services. No matter which hospital you go. Sorry we are too small to have county. But having to say that, the government needs to be more careful and fast when it comes to financial assistance/payments of the bills. (In my country, servicemen and civil servants can get fully subsidies for their medical bills if they ever go in a hospital).

@grenery8 On January 14th I found out from someone at the Virginia Medicaid office that I had been lied to. I have had full coverage Medicaid since September 1st! Then I found out in late January I have had the Medicaid that ran through United Healthcare and that I have been missing benefits with some of my medical transportation, medicine and supplies because the social services in this county told them my address was my former address in another county. I hadn’t lived there in almost 3 years and my insurance cards were being sent there!
